Syria Handed Over 146 Daesh Militants’ Family Members To Tajikistan

DAMASCUS, Jul 26 (NNN-SANA) – Syria, yesterday, handed over a total of 146 Tajik nationals, who are family members of the Daesh militants, to their home country.

Zabidullah Zabidov, the ambassador of Tajikistan in Kuwait, was in Syria yesterday, to take the Tajik nationals, who had been accommodated in the al-Hol camp, in north-eastern Syria.

The al-Hol camp, which is run by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), is known to be housing refugees, largely family members of foreign Daesh militants.

Syria's absence in AL "detrimental" to Arab nation: Algerian FM

DAMASCUS, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra on Monday voiced support for Syria's return to the Arab League (AL), saying its absence has been "detrimental to the joint Arab work."

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad in Damascus on the second day of his visit, Lamamra said that Algeria has been discussing with other Arab states on finding ways to fix this situation.

Top Algerian diplomat arrives in Damascus to meet regime officials

24 July 2022; MEMO: Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra on Sunday arrived in the Syrian capital Damascus to meet top officials of the Syrian regime, Anadolu reports.

According to a statement by the Algerian Foreign Ministry, the visit is scheduled for two days as part of Algeria's preparations for the Arab League summit in November.

Early this month, Syrian regime's Foreign Minister Faysal Mikdad visited Algeria at an official invitation to participate in the 60th anniversary of Algeria's independence ceremonies.

Damascus Accuses U.S. Of Obstructing Security, Stability In Syria

DAMASCUS, Jul 23 (NNN-SANA) – The presence of the U.S. forces in north-eastern Syria, and its plundering of the Syrian oil, aim to obstruct the political solution and the return of stability and security to Syria, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement yesterday.

The U.S. practices and the unlimited support to the terrorist groups, show the “hypocrisy of the U.S. in the region,” which is “no longer acceptable neither morally nor politically,” the ministry said.

Syria Urges UN To Condemn Repeated Israeli Strikes

DAMASCUS, Jul 23 (NNN-SANA) – The Syrian Foreign Ministry, yesterday, urged the UN Security Council, to condemn the repeated Israeli missile strikes on Syria, particularly the latest one that killed three soldiers, after midnight yesterday.

In a statement, the ministry said, the UN should shoulder its responsibility in condemning the attacks and exert pressure on the Israeli regime to abide by The Agreement on Disengagement, reached in Geneva in 1947, which stipulates in its first paragraph, a cease-fire on land, sea, and air between Syria and the Israeli regime.

Syria’s Air Defences Respond To Fresh Israeli Attacks

DAMASCUS, Jul 22 (NNN-SANA) – The Syrian air defences, responded to an Israeli missile strike, on the Syrian capital of Damascus, late last night, it was reported.

Explosions were heard in Damascus, after the Israeli attacks and the firing of the Syrian air defence missiles, it said.

The Israeli attacks targetted sites in the urban and rural areas of Damascus, according to the report.

Israel has repeatedly targeted Syrian military sites during the 11-year Syrian civil war, under the pretext of targeting pro-Iran militias.

U.S. Troops Continue To Smuggle Syrian Oil Into Iraq: Media

DAMASCUS, Jul 17 (NNN-SANA) – The U.S. forces smuggled 40 truckloads of stolen Syrian oil from north-eastern Syria into Iraq, yesterday.

The oil was taken from the Rmailan area in the north-eastern Syrian province of Hasaka, said the report.

The U.S. convoy, escorted by armoured vehicles, also transported truckloads of weaponry from Hasakah into Iraq, through an illegal crossing.

Syrian President Made First Visit To Aleppo In 11 Years

DAMASCUS, Jul 9 (NNN-SANA) – Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, yesterday paid his first visit to the country’s economic and industrial hub, Aleppo, since the outbreak of the country’s war, 11 years ago.

Assad took part in the inauguration of a thermal plant and a water pumping plant in Aleppo, a major city in northern Syria, that the government army took back from rebel fighters in late 2016.

During his visit to the rehabilitated thermal plant, Assad blamed “western forces, led by the United States” for the devastation and destruction of the plant’s facilities.

Syria welcomes Iran's effort to help ease tension with Turkey

DAMASCUS, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad on Saturday evening said his country welcomes any role played by Iran in easing the tension between Syria and Turkey and achieving political progress.

The tension has been brewing for weeks after Ankara declared a plan to impose a buffer zone in northern Syria on the border with Turkey through a military operation against the Kurdish militias in that region.
