Islamabad, Apr 26 (PTI) Pakistani archaeologists claimed that they have discovered remains of metal workshops from the Indo-Greek period dating back to the 2nd century BCE.

The archaeologists from the University of Peshawar (UoP) made the discovery from a site in the Hayatabad neighbourhood of Peshawar, Dawn reported.

Professor Gul Rahim told media that the site is located close to the border of the Khyber district, adding that excavation work at the site has been going on for the past three years.

Islamabad, Apr 21 (PTI) Pakistan on Sunday deplored India's "unilateral" decision to suspend cross-LoC trade and rejected the allegations regarding its "misuse" by elements from across the border to smuggle weapons, narcotics, fake currency and foment terrorism.

Hardening its stand against Pakistan, India on Thursday indefinitely suspended cross-border trade at two points along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir after reports of very large scale "misuse" of the cross-LoC trade.

Attari (Amritsar), Apr 15 (PTI) A group of 100 Indian fishermen Monday crossed over to the Indian side through Attari-Wagah border after the Pakistan government released them from jail as a goodwill gesture.

The fishermen crossed over to India this evening on the basis of 'emergency travel certificates' issued by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, officials said.

ISLAMABAD, April 12 (Xinhua) -- At least 16 people, including one security personnel and two children, were killed and 30 others injured when a bomb ripped through an open-air market in Pakistan's southwest city of Quetta on Friday morning, officials and local reports said.

Deputy Inspector General of police Abdul Razzaq Cheema confirmed the death toll, saying that the blast targeted the market area frequented by Shiite Muslims in Hazarganji area of Quetta, the provincial capital of southwest Balochistan province.

Islamabad, Apr 10 (PTI) Pakistan's Premier Imran Khan has said he believes there may be a better chance of peace talks with India and settle the Kashmir issue if Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party BJP wins the general elections.

India will go to elections in seven phases beginning from Thursday.

"Perhaps if the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)....wins, some kind of settlement in Kashmir could be reached," Khan told a small group of foreign journalists in an interview.

ISLAMABAD, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs here on Sunday summoned Indian deputy high commissioner and warned India over its alleged plans to carry out some military action against Pakistan in the coming days, an official said.

Spokesperson of the ministry Mohammad Faisal told local Urdu TV Channel Dawn News that the foreign ministry handed a demarche to the deputy high commissioner to convey Islamabad's protest and objections.

Islamabad, Mar 25 (PTI) Pakistan on Monday received USD 2.1 billion from its all-weather ally China to help it in making international payments mainly on import and debt repayment counters.

Finance Ministry Spokesperson Khaqan Hassan Najeeb said the funds deposited in the State Bank of Pakistan would strengthen the stability of the country.

"Deposit of RMB 15Bn equivalent to USD 2.1Bn received in State Bank of Pakistan account on March 25th 2019 from China," Najeeb tweeted.
