Iran to take 3rd step to reduce nuke commitments: president

TEHRAN, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Wednesday that Iran will take the third step to reduce its commitments to the 2015 nuclear deal.

Despite progress in the negotiations between Iran and the European parties to the nuclear dear, "final agreement has not been reached so far," Rouhani was quoted as saying by the state IRIB TV.

Therefore, "Iran will take the third step to reduce its commitments to the nuclear deal, and will announce the soon," said Rouhani.

Iran's Rouhani rules out any bilateral talks with US

Tehran, Sept 3 (AFP) Iran's President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday ruled out holding any bilateral talks with the United States, saying the Islamic republic is opposed to such negotiations in principle.

In an address to parliament, Rouhani also said Iran was ready to further reduce its commitments to a landmark 2015 nuclear deal "in the coming days" if current negotiations yield no results by Thursday.

Iran warns of ‘strong step’ from atomic deal if no new terms

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran will “take a strong step” away from its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers if Europe cannot offer the country new terms by a deadline at the end of this week, a government spokesman said Monday as top Iranian diplomats traveled to France and Russia for last-minute talks.

The comments from Ali Rabiei reinforced the deadline Iran had set for Friday for Europe to offer it a way to sell its crude oil on the global market. Crushing U.S. sanctions imposed after President Donald Trump withdrew America from the deal over a year ago have halted those sales.

Iran unveils new advanced combat drone

TEHRAN, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Iran's army unveiled state-of-the-art drone on Sunday, which is capable of tracking and hitting distant targets.

The drone, named Kian, has been designed and produced in two types and tested by the Iranian experts, Commander of the Iranian Army's Air Defense Force Alireza Sabahi-Fardand, was quoted as saying by state TV.

One type is capable of tracking and identifying targets at high speeds and the other is for long-haul flights to conduct precision-strike operations.

Iran To Officially Join EAEU In Oct

TEHRAN, Iran, Aug 31 (NNN-TASNIM) – Iranian Energy Minister, Reza Ardakanian, said that, his country will officially join the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in Oct.

Ardakanian said that, after Iran’s accession to the EAEU, 864 various products would be included in the preferential trade agreement between the two sides.

Also, the agreement would allow exports of 70 products on zero tariffs, while 503 other items would enjoy lowered duties, he added.

Iranian senior cleric rules out likelihood of Iran-U.S. talks

TEHRAN, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Iran is not "insane" to negotiate with those who break their promises, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, senior Iranian cleric said here on Friday, referring to the U.S. exit from the Iranian 2015 nuclear deal last year.

"As the supreme leader has said, there will be no negotiations with the U.S., and both the authorities and the people agree on this," Khatami was quoted as saying by Tehran Times daily.

"Negotiation under pressure is surrender and the Iranian nation will never tolerate such disgrace," he said.

Iran official tweets at Trump after apparent rocket failure

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — An Iranian official has tweeted at President Donald Trump over an apparent rocket failure, showing an image of him standing next to a satellite that was supposed to be launched.

Iran’s Information and Communications Technology Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi tweeted the image Saturday of the Nahid-1 satellite.

Jahromi wrote: “Me & Nahid I right now, Good Morning Donald Trump!”

The tweet comes after satellite photos showed a rocket on a launch pad at Iran’s Imam Khomenei Space Center had exploded Thursday.

Iran working on varieties of research satellites

Tehran, Aug 29, IRNA - Defense Minister Major General Amir Hatami said on Thursday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is working on several research satellites to further strengthen the country's scientific aerospace program. 

“The Ministry of the Defense is carrying out its research activities about launching satellites and missiles based on a well-defined plan,” said the minister, stressing that such measures are “completely natural”. 

“Some people see some points every now and then which might raise questions for them which is completely natural. 

Iran sets 2 conditions for talks with US

29 Aug 2019; MEMO: Chief of Staff of the President of Iran Mahmoud Vaezi has said that Washington “must build confidence and lift sanctions” imposed on the country before starting dialogue with Tehran, the New Khaleej reported yesterday.

Vaezi denied reports that a meeting was to be held between Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his American counterpart Donald Trump.
