India: Jajmau's 130 MLD Sewerage plant shifts to private hands

Kanpur: Now, the upkeep of Jajmau Sewerage Treatment Plant running with a capacity of treating 130 MLD polluted water has been taken over by a private company. So far it was managed by Jal Nigam. 

The handover procedures were completed in the presence of Jal Nigam GM B K Garg and Company's Project manager M Ray. 

The employees who were constantly opposing the privatisation process raised their voice against loss of job. As many as 150 employees were present at the time of plant handover.

India: Farooq Abdullah gets first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Srinagar, Mar 2 (PTI) National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, who is Lok Sabha member from Srinagar, on Tuesday got his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at a hospital here, officials said.

Abdullah, 85, was given the first dose of the vaccine at the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, the officials said.

Omar Abdullah, son of the NC president, took to Twitter to thank the doctors and other staff at the hospital for administering the vaccine to his father.

Chinese hackers target Indian vaccine makers SII, Bharat Biotech, says security firm

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - A Chinese state-backed hacking group has in recent weeks targeted the IT systems of two Indian vaccine makers whose coronavirus shots are being used in the country’s immunisation campaign, cyber intelligence firm Cyfirma told Reuters.

Rivals China and India have both sold or gifted COVID-19 shots to many countries. India produces more than 60% of all vaccines sold in the world.

India: Man arrested for raping girl, sharing video in UP's Ballia

Ballia (UP), Mar 1 (PTI) A man was arrested for allegedly raping a teenage girl and filming the act and sharing it on social media, police said on Monday.

Chandrama Rajbhar, 24, was arrested on Sunday for repeatedly raping the 17-year-old girl for the past one year, Station House Officer, Sukhpura, Virendra Yadav said.

The accused also filmed the act and shared it on Facebook, he added.

India: Three booked for raping teenager in UP's Ghazipur

Ghazipur, Feb 28 (PTI) Three youths have been booked for allegedly raping a teenager in a village under the Karanda police station area of Ghazipur district in eastern Uttar Pradesh, an official said on Sunday.

The case against the trio was registered on Saturday on the complaint of the victim's mother alleging gang rape of her daughter by them on February 25, Karanda police station's SHO Ajay Kumar Pandey said.

In her complaint, the girl's mother said her daughter was raped by the trio when she had gone out to fields to answer nature's call, the SHO added.

India: Body of 15-yr-old girl found in UP's Fatehpur, rape suspected

Fatehpur (UP), Feb 28 (PTI) The body of a 15-year-old girl was recovered from a village in Khaga Police Station area here on Sunday, an officer said.

"Acting on a tip-off, police recovered the body and it was sent for post-mortem examination," SHO Santosh Kumar Sharma said.

In a complaint to the police, the girl's father said she had gone to relieve herself in the forest on Saturday evening but did not return, the SHO said.

Sharma said the family members of the girl have alleged murder after rape.

India: AIADMK leaders holds seat-sharing talks with Amit Shah

India: Teenager rapes seven-year-old girl in UP's Chitrakoot

Chitrakoot (UP), Mar 1 (PTI) A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a teenager in a village in Raipura area, police said on Monday

The incident took place on Saturday when the class 12 student took the girl to his house and raped her, SHO, Raipura, Sushil Chandra Sharma said.

The accused was held on Sunday from the village, he added.

An FIR was registered by the family members of the victim, when she told them about the incident, he said.

The girl has been sent for medical examination and probe is on in the matter.
