Saudi deported Indians for protesting against Narendra Modi's anti-Muslim register

13 Dec 2020; MEMO:  Arab media has reported that Saudi Arabia deported a number of non-resident Indians (NRI) living in the Gulf state for protesting against the highly controversial register introduced by the far-right Hindu nationalist government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Saudi Prince: 'Netanyahu is a liar, crown prince did not meet with him'

05 Dec 2020; MEMO:  Former Head of Saudi intelligence Prince Turki Al-Faisal has denied news of an approaching Saudi normalisation deal with the occupation, as well as the alleged meeting held by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling the latter a "liar".

This came in an interview with CNN, in which Al-Faisal discussed the leaks of a supposed meeting that took place between the Saudi crown prince and Netanyahu, which Saudi Arabia has denied.

Saudi Arabia cancels Mossad leader's visit

05 Dec 2020; MEMO:  Saudi Arabia has abruptly cancelled the visit of an Israeli official last week, presumed to be the Mossad head. This came after Israel disclosed information about the secret meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, in the presence of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Neom, less than two weeks ago.

Saudi investment fund seeks $7bn loan from international banks

04 Dec 2020; MEMO:  Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) is seeking a loan of $5 to $7 billion from international banks for investment opportunities, according to Bloomberg.

The PIF obtained its first loan in September 2018 amounting to $11 billion, and another loan of $10 billion in 2019.

According to data from the PIF, the fund has assets of $347 billion.

Saudi Arabia Denies Role In Assassination Of Iranian Nuke Scientist

RIYADH, Dec 2 (NNN-SPA) – Saudi’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel al-Jubeir, denied any role of his country, in the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

He responded to allegation by Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, claiming the murder of the scientist was a Saudi Arabia-U.S.-Israel plot.

It is not the policy of Saudi Arabia to engage in assassinations, al-Jubeir said.

Fakhrizadeh was assassinated last Friday, near the Iranian capital, Tehran, by “armed terrorists,” Iranian Ministry of Defence, said.

Saudi-led coalition intercepts bomb-laden boat in Red Sea

RIYADH, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi-led coalition involved in a war in Yemen announced on Wednesday the interception of a bomb-laden boat in the Red Sea, Al Arabiya TV reported.

The boat was launched by Houthi militia and a merchant vessel was slightly damaged, the coalition said, adding that the "terrorist acts" threaten navigation and global trade.

The incident happened a few days after a Houthi attack that created an explosion and caused the fuel tank fire in the oil facility in the north of the port city Jeddah.
