Saudi Flag Carrier Signs Deal With Huawei On Digital Transformation

RIYADH, Feb 14 (NNN-SPA) – Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier, SAUDIA Airlines, has signed a deal with China’s Huawei, on digital transformation, including launching a service application on the tech giant’s AppGallary platform.

The deal, signed with Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia, allows the Saudi flag carrier to become part of Huawei’s holistic ecosystem, for users in the Middle East and Africa and beyond.

With this deal, travellers will now be able to book their flights between Saudi Arabia and their chosen destination on Huawei’s smart devices.

Saudi Arabia gives 4% of Aramco to investment fund

Dubai, Feb 13 (AP) Saudi Arabia said Sunday it will transfer 4% of its stock in the state-run oil giant Aramco to its state investment fund, a nearly 80 billion infusion of cash as it tries to overhaul its energy-dependent economy.

The announcement on state media comes as the oil firm is valued just under 2 trillion.

The kingdom remains the largest shareholder in the firm with 94% of the company. It offered shares of the oil firm on Riyadh's Tadawul stock market in 2019.

Huawei Launches Its Largest Overseas Store In Riyadh

Saudi Arabia, China agree to boost military cooperation

ESL, a gaming event organiser, and tournament platform FACEIT will merge to form ESL FACEIT Group, according to a report first published by German site Handelsblatt.

UN, Saudi Arabia discuss ending Yemen war

2i Jan 2022; MEMO: The United Nations Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, yesterday met with the Saudi Deputy Defence Minister, Khalid Bin Salman Al-Saud, in the Saudi capital city of Riyadh, where they discussed ways to end the war in Yemen.

"I appreciate the opportunity to discuss ways to end the Yemen war and ensure stability on the Arabian Peninsula with Prince Khalid Bin Salman," Grundberg said on Twitter, adding that they both agreed to "work closely together and to continue cooperation".

Iran and Saudi 'preparing to reopen embassies'

16 Jan 2022; MEMO: Six years after snapping their diplomatic ties, arch-foes Iran and Saudi Arabia are slowly moving toward rapprochement and preparing to reopen embassies, according to a senior Iranian lawmaker, reported Anadolu Agency.

Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's national security and foreign policy commission, in a Twitter post on Saturday, said the two countries are on course to restore their fractured ties.
