Pakistan ex-premier shifted to prison near capital Islamabad

27 September 2023; MEMO: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, was shifted to a prison near the capital, Islamabad, on Tuesday following a court order, officials and local media reported, Anadolu Agency reports.

The Islamabad High Court, on Monday, directed the authorities to shift Khan from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on the request of his lawyers.

India would look into any 'specific' info on Sikh separatist killing in Canada-minister

Sept 26 (Reuters) - India's foreign minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, said on Tuesday that India has told Canada it was open to looking into any "specific" or "relevant" information it provides on the killing of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said last week that Ottawa had credible intelligence linking Indian agents to the murder, prompting an angry initial reaction from New Delhi, which denies the allegation.

Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force Arrested Seven Drug Traffickers

ISLAMABAD, Sept 26 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), arrested seven drug traffickers in various operations across the country, an ANF spokesperson said.

During the operations, the force seized over 115 kg of drugs, including hashish, opium and heroin, while impounding several vehicles that were being used for smuggling, the ANF said in a statement, yesterday.

NEW DELHI, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Indian lawmaker belonging to the main opposition party the Indian National Congress (INC), Ravneet Singh Bittu, has lashed out at Canada amid the ongoing diplomatic row between the two countries, calling it a "puppet" of the U.S. intelligence agency CIA.

Bittu said that Canada had been giving a safe haven to anti-India terrorists and separatists.

NEW DELHI, Sept 22 (Reuters) - India on Thursday suspended new visas for Canadians and asked Ottawa to reduce its diplomatic presence in the country, sharply escalating a spat triggered by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's accusations linking New Delhi to a Sikh separatist's murder.

India was willing to look into specific information in connection with the accusations, its foreign ministry said, adding that Canada has not shared anything so far.

Bangladesh Suffers Worst Day Of Dengue With Record Number Of Deaths

DHAKA, Sept 21 (NNN-BSS) – Bangladesh suffered its worst day yet of the dengue this year, as deaths of the disease reached the previous record, yesterday.

Bangladesh reported 3,015 new dengue cases and 21 new deaths yesterday, taking the tally to 176,810 and the death toll to over 850, so far, this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) under the Ministry of Health, said.

Previously, on Sept 2, the DGHS reported the highest daily death toll with 21 fatalities.
