Russia’s anti-hypersonic missile radar to enter combat duty in Arctic by July

MOSCOW, April 14. /TASS/: Russia’ Rezonans-N radar, capable of spotting hypersonic missiles and deployed on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago in November last year, will enter service no later than in June 2021, Rezonans Science and Research Center Director General Alexander Shramchenko has told TASS.

"The third Rezonans-N radar station will go on combat duty on Novaya Zemlya this May or June," he said.

Two more stations, the fourth and fifth overall, will enter service in the Arctic region by late 2021, the official added.

Russia: Moscow warns US to stay away from Crimea, Black Sea coast

MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/: Moscow urges Washington to stay away from Crimea and Russia’s Black Sea coast, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told reporters on Tuesday.

"We have warned the US that it should stay away from Crimea and our Black Sea coast for its own good," he said.

Russia: Kremlin says premature to speak about details of Putin-Biden summit meeting

MOSCOW, April 14. /TASS/: Moscow believes that it is premature yet to speak about details of a possible summit meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Joseph Biden, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

"It is premature yet to speak about any details of this meeting. This is a new proposal and it will be studied and analyzed," the Russian presidential spokesman said, replying to a question about the options of the venue and time of the presidents’ summit meeting that were being considered.

Russia: Putin gets his second COVID-19 jab

MOSCOW, April 14. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday that he has received his second COVID-19 vaccine dose.

"Just now I have received the second jab," Putin told the Russian Geographical Society’s board meeting on Wednesday.

"I hope everything will be fine," Putin said. "I do not just hope, I’m sure about this."

Putin hopes that the COVID-19 pandemic will recede soon, in particular due to the vaccination drive.

Covid-19: Russia suspends regular flights to Tanzania and Turkey

MOSCOW, April 14 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Russia announced the suspension of flights between Russia and Tanzania, with effect from April 15 to June 1, due to the status of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Russian Government says it will review the suspension if the pandemic situation in Tanzania stabilizes.

The suspension was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova. Speaking at a video conference she said travel agencies were recommended to halt sales of tours to Tanzania and Turkey, where flights have also been suspended.

Russia’s prospects of taking part in ISS were discussed by Putin — Kremlin

MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/: The issue of expediency of continuing Russia’s participation in the International Space Station (ISS) project was discussed at the space meeting chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 12, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.

"Indeed, it was said at the meeting that the ISS and our segment are not eternal. The construction wears out with time and an ultimate decision will have to be made sooner or later. The expediency of continuing this work <…> was indeed emphasized at the meeting," he said.

Johnson & Johnson delays rollout of its vaccine in Europe

MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/: Johnson & Johnson has postponed the use of its vaccine in European countries following reports about the jab’s possible connection to the formation of blood clots, the company said in a press release on Tuesday.

The company notes that the decision was made after the recommendation of American regulators to suspend the use of the drug in the United States due to the possible side effects that the vaccine can cause. In particular six cases of formation of blood clots post-vaccination were registered in the country.

Russia warns U.S. warships to steer clear of Crimea 'for their own good'

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia on Tuesday warned the United States to ensure its warships stayed well away from Crimea “for their own good”, calling their deployment in the Black Sea a provocation designed to test Russian nerves.

Moscow annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and two U.S. warships are due to arrive in the Black Sea this week amid an escalation in fighting in eastern Ukraine where government forces have battled Russian-backed troops in a conflict Kyiv says has killed 14,000 people.

Russia suspends flights to Turkey until June 1

The suspension over COVID-19 concerns will last from April 15 to June 1, said Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
