Putin signs decree on Russia’s new tit-for-tat sanctions

MOSCOW, May 3. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on using new special retaliatory economic measures over unfriendly actions by some foreign states and international organizations. In particular, the document published on the official portal of legal information prohibits fulfilling obligations and concluding deals with foreign individuals and legal entities under the retaliatory restrictive measures as well as exporting raw materials and products from Russia in the interests of these individuals.

MOSCOW, May 3. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday that despite Kiev’s unpreparedness for serious work Russia remained open to a dialogue, the Kremlin’s press service has said.

"The Russian president explained the fundamental approach to negotiations with the Ukrainian representatives. In particular, he stressed that despite Kiev’s inconsistency and unpreparedness for serious work Russia remained open to a dialogue," the Kremlin said.

Russia says Israel supports neo-Nazis in row over Ukraine

May 3 (Reuters) - Russia's foreign ministry accused Israel on Tuesday of supporting neo-Nazis in Ukraine, escalating a row that began when Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed Adolf Hitler had Jewish origins.

Israel said on Monday Lavrov's comment was an "unforgivable" falsehood that tried to minimise the horrors of the Holocaust - the slaughter of 6 million European Jews and other minority groupsby Nazi Germany.

03 May 2022; MEMO: Russia's foreign ministry accused Israel on Tuesday of supporting neo-Nazis in Ukraine, further escalating a row which began when Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed Adolf Hitler had Jewish origins, reports Reuters.

Israel lambasted Lavrov on Monday, saying his claim – made when talking about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy who is Jewish – was an "unforgivable" falsehood that debased the horrors of the Nazi Holocaust.

Russia denies reports claiming war in Ukraine to end on May 9

02 May 2022; MEMO: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Sunday denied reports claiming that Moscow will end its war on Ukraine on May 9, the anniversary of Russia's victory over the Nazis in World War II, reports Anadolu Agency.

"Russia does not intend to accelerate the completion of the special operation in Ukraine until the Victory Day over Nazism, May 9," said Lavrov, speaking to Italian television channel Rete 4.

Russia’s COVID-19 case tally grows by 7,047 - crisis center

MOSCOW, May 1. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 7,047 over the past day to 18,189,401, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Sunday.

In relative terms, it reached 0.04%.

Meanwhile, 1,442 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, 44% fewer than in the previous day. The number of hospitalized patients declined in 70 regions, while in 12 other regions the figure increased.

Fire breaks out at Russian Defense Ministry’s facility in Belgorod Region, says governor

MOSCOW, May 1. /TASS/: A fire occurred on the territory of the Russian Defense Ministry’s facility on the border of three municipalities of the Belgorod Region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported via his Telegram channel on Sunday.

"A fire broke out on the territory of one of the facilities of the Russian Defense Ministry on the border of three municipalities, the Borisovsky and Belgorodsky regions and the Yakovlevsky city district," he wrote.

Russia strictly follows principle that nuclear conflict is inadmissible - senior diplomat
