Rittenhouse gives account of shootings: ‘I defended myself’

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — Kyle Rittenhouse told jurors at his murder trial that he tried to get away from his pursuers the night he shot three men during street unrest in Kenosha, saying he never wanted to kill anyone: “I didn’t do anything wrong. I defended myself.”

The 18-year-old spent most of Wednesday giving his account of what happened in just a few frenzied minutes on Aug. 25, 2020, sobbing so hard at one point that the judge called a recess.

BANJA LUKA, Bosnia Nov 11 (Reuters) - Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik, whose secessionist ideas are widely seen as endangering a Bosnian peace deal, said in an interview with Reuters on Thursday that no political goals were worth the sacrificing of peace in Bosnia.

"I am not ready to sacrifice peace for anything," said Dodik, who is the Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite inter-ethnic presidency. "I am not ready to sacrifice peace for a fight for Republika Srpska."

Palestinian Authority to sue Israel over 'crimes' of hacking Palestinians' phones

FIROZ KOAH, Afghanistan, Nov 11 (NNN-BIA) – Four Afghan children were wounded, in a landmine explosion, in the western province of Ghor, as landmines and explosive remnants of war continued to pose a lingering threat to Afghans’ lives, a local official confirmed today.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon, when children were grazing their sheep in Tasarqi village, on the outskirts of provincial capital, Firoz Koah, Abdul Satar, chairman of the provincial health directorate, said.

Death toll from adverse weather conditions in Sri Lanka rises to 25

COLOMBO, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from the adverse weather conditions in Sri Lanka rose to 25 on Thursday while over 200,000 people had been affected, the country's Disaster Management Center (DMC) said in its latest update.

According to official figures, one person was reported missing and seven people were injured as heavy rains and strong winds lashed out across the country since last weekend.

Twenty-three houses were fully damaged while 1,253 were partially damaged, the DMC said.
