PARIS, Oct 12 (Reuters) - President Emmanuel Macron will meet political party leaders on Thursday and address the nation on TV to call for unity and try to prevent any spillover of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in France, where there has been a rise in antisemitic acts.

France has Europe's largest Muslim and Jewish populations and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has in the past contributed to tensions between the two.

BRUSSELS, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Defence ministers at NATO's Brussels headquarters watched stunned as their Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant on Thursday showed them "shocking" and "horrific" video from the Hamas attack on Israeli civilians, diplomats said.

"The following targets were destroyed: an electronic warfare station and an ammunition depot near the town of Berislav in the Kherson Region," the ministry said in a statement.

KATHMANDU, Oct 12 (NNN-XINHUA) – The Nepali government is sending a plane to bring back Nepalis stranded in the latest round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a minister said yesterday.

A cabinet meeting decided to send a chartered flight of Nepal Airlines, for the rescue operation led by Foreign Minister, Narayan Prakash Saud, and the plane left for Israel last night.

350 Nepali nationals have registered with the Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv, to return home.

DUBAI, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Iran's top envoy accused Israel of seeking "genocide" by enforcing a siege against the Gaza Strip, Iranian state TV reported on Thursday, as he began a regional tour to discuss the conflict between Tehran's Palestinian ally Hamas and Israel.

BEIJING, Oct 12 (Reuters) - China said on Thursday it had sent fighter jets to monitor and warn a U.S. Navy patrol aircraft that flew through the Taiwan Strait.

China claims sovereignty over democratically-governed Taiwan, and says it has jurisdiction over the narrow waterway. Taiwan and the United States dispute that, saying the Taiwan Strait is an international waterway.

"The bodies of two people were recovered from the rubble by operational services -- a man and a woman," Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Belgorod region, said on his social media channel, adding that a child could still be trapped under the rubble.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (NNN-APP) – At least 12 people were killed and 11 others injured last night, in a road accident in the Khairpur district of Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, an official said.

Deputy Commissioner of the district, Ahmed Fawad Shah, told the media that, a passenger van and a car collided with each other near the Babarloi Bypass area of Khairpur, leaving seven people dead on the spot, and 16 others injured.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to a nearby hospital.
