Yemen's Houthis say they launched ballistic missiles at Israel

DUBAI, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Yemen's Houthi group launched several ballistic missiles at military posts in the southern Israeli city of Eilat, the group's military spokesperson said in a statement on Wednesday.

Earlier Wednesday, the U.S. Navy shot down a drone that originated from a part of Yemen controlled by the Houthi group, a U.S. defense official told Reuters.

Russia's Putin meets Saudi crown prince in whirlwind Gulf visit

RIYADH, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin landed in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and immediately began hastily arranged talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on oil, Gaza and Ukraine.

It was not immediately clear what Putin, who has rarely left Russia since the start of the Ukraine war, intended to raise specifically about oil or geopolitics in a meeting with the crown prince of the world's largest crude exporter.

Palestine: Last hospital in northern Gaza halts operation: health official

GAZA, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The only operating hospital in the conflict-ravaged northern Gaza Strip halted services on Wednesday due to fuel shortages and heavy Israeli strikes, according to a Palestinian health official.

"Kamal Odwan Hospital was out of service due to repeated Israeli targeting and the exhaustion of fuel needed to operate the generators," Munir Al-Bursh, director-general of the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza, said at a press conference.

Cambodian gov't collects revenue of 4.88 bln USD in 10 months

PHNOM PENH, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Cambodian government collected a total revenue of 20,160 billion riels (4.88 billion U.S. dollars) in the first 10 months of 2023, a year-on-year decrease of 2 percent, said a Ministry of Economy and Finance report released on Wednesday.

During the January-October period this year, the Southeast Asian country earned 4.4 billion dollars in tax revenue, down 4.2 percent, and 482 million dollars in non-tax revenue, up 24 percent, the report said.

Venezuela: Maduro orders the ‘immediate’ exploitation of oil, gas and mines in Guyana’s Essequibo

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Tuesday directed the country’s state-owned companies to “immediately” begin to explore and exploit the oil, gas and mines in Guyana’s Essequibo region, a territory larger than Greece and rich in oil and minerals that Venezuela claims as its own.

The announcement came a day a day after Maduro got the victory he sought in a weekend referendum on whether to claim sovereignty over the region.

UN Agency says resumed Israel military operation repeats 'horror from past weeks'

5 December 2023; MEMO: The head of the UN Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA), on Monday, said the Israeli resumption and expansion of its military operation across Gaza repeats “the horrors from past weeks”, Anadolu Agency reports.

“The resumption of the military operation and its expansion further in southern Gaza is repeating horrors from past weeks,” UNRWA Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, said in a statement.
