Italy: Pope Francis getting antibiotics intravenously for lung problem, limiting appointments, Vatican says

ROME (AP) — Pope Francis is receiving antibiotics intravenously to treat a lung inflammation and will scale back some appointments, but he doesn’t have pneumonia or fever, the Vatican said Monday.

Francis himself on Sunday revealed that he was suffering from the inflammation problem, explaining why he didn’t keep his weekly window appointment to greet people in St. Peter’s Square. Instead, he gave his blessing from the chapel of the hotel on Vatican grounds where he lives.

UK: Elon Musk visits Israel to meet top leaders as accusations of antisemitism on X grow

LONDON (AP) —Elon Musk, who’s been under fire over accusations of antisemitism flourishing on his social media platform X, paid a visit Monday to Israel, where he toured a kibbutz that was attacked last month by Hamas militants and was set to meet with top leaders.

The billionaire and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toured the Kfar Azza kibbutz, a rural village that Hamas militants stormed on Oct. 7 in a deadly assault that launched the war.

Twenty-four Ukrainian drones destroyed up to now – Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/: The Russian Air Defense means destroyed four more Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Bryansk, Smolensk and Tula Regions, the Defense Ministry reported.

The number of drones downed on Sunday climbed therefore to twenty-four.

Russia: Gazprom sets historical record of daily gas supplies to China

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/: Gazprom set a new record of gas supplies to China over the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, the gas giant reports.

The previous maximum was achieved on November 23.

"On November 25, the nomination of the Chinese side for Russian gas supplies over the Power of Siberia gas pipeline was again above daily contractual commitments. Gazprom supplied all the requested volumes and set a new historical record of daily gas supplies to China," the company informed.

Ukraine needs more air defences to protect grain exports, Zelenskiy says

KYIV, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Ukraine needs more air defences to protect its grain export routes as well as regions bordering Russia, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Saturday, as he addressed an international summit on food security in Kyiv.

"There is a deficit of air defence - that is no secret," Zelenskiy told the Grain from Ukraine summit, which was attended by senior officials from European countries, including Swiss President Alain Berset and Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte.

Germany: European countries tighten borders

Nov 24 (Reuters) - The European Union is dealing with an increase in legal and illegal arrivals by migrants, prompting some member states to temporarily re-introduce border controls within what is normally a zone of free movement.

The bloc's Schengen rules allow such action "as a last resort" in cases that are deemed serious threats to internal security or public policy.

These countries have reinstated stricter checks:

* Austria introduced checks at its border with the Czech Republic in October, set to last until Dec. 6.
