Russia's Rosneft interested in jet fuel supplies on Indian market

MOSCOW, April 25. /TASS/. Russian state-run oil company Rosneft is interested in organizing supplies of jet fuel from the Indian oil refinery in the city of Vadinar to the airports in the country, said the head of Rosneft-Aero, Kirill Molodenkov.

Rosneft Aero is a subsidiary of Rosneft, which sells jet fuel produced at 9 Rosneft refineries.

Russia’s military police tasked with peacekeeping missions in Syria

MOSCOW, April 25. /TASS/. The Russian military police in Syria primarily deals with peacekeeping missions, Head of the Main Military Police Department at Russia’s Defense Ministry Lieutenant-General Vladimir Ivanovsky told TASS on the sidelines of the 8th Moscow International Security Conference on Thursday.

"First of all, this is peacekeeping activity," he stressed.

"This activity is linked with monitoring the ceasefire, providing for humanitarian actions, accompanying UN convoys and solving other tasks," the general specified.

Scotland's first minister calls for new independence vote before 2021

LONDON, April 24 (Xinhua) -- People in Scotland should be given the chance before 2021 to vote for independence from the United Kingdom, Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said in a major speech Wednesday.

Sturgeon made the call in a speech to the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood following the decision by the EU Council to extend Britain's membership of the bloc until October 31.

Putin hosts Kim for talks on North Korean nuclear standoff

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin sat down for talks Thursday with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying the summit should help plan joint efforts to resolve a standoff over Pyongyang’s nuclear program.

Speaking at the start of the talks at a university on the Russky Island across a bridge from Vladivostok, Putin voiced confidence that Kim’s visit will “help better understand what should be done to settle the situation on the Korean Peninsula, what we can do together, what Russia can do to support the positive processes going on now.”

"Anyway, the Russian president as a person who determines Russia’s foreign policy, including its Ukrainian vector, will communicate with Ukraine’s leadership based on [Zelensky’s] specific statements and actions," Peskov said.
