Russian PM to chair meeting on national projects in Crimea

SEVASTOPOL, July 29. /TASS/: Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who is on a working visit to the city of Sevastopol, will chair a meeting dedicated to the implementation of the National Projects in Crimea, the cabinet press service said, adding that the focus would be on healthcare, education and culture.

AliExpress to start delivering goods to Russian stores

MOSCOW, July 29. /TASS/: AliExpress starts the small and medium enterprises program in Russian regions, where the company will act as the wholesaler for retail chains, the e-business company reports on Monday.

Goods from the seasonal range, accessories, home and garden products, and clothing will be available at the first stage.

The range of goods for wholesalers will also be available, with consideration of specific features of the region or the trade chain.

Putin opponent Navalny may have been exposed to 'toxic agent': doctor

29 July 2019; AFP: Russia's jailed opposition politician Alexei Navalny might have been exposed to an unidentified "toxic agent," his personal doctor said on Monday, while health officials insisted his condition was satisfactory.

"Some toxic agent may be the reason for Alexei Navalny's 'illness'," his physician Anastasia Vasilyeva said in a post on Facebook, adding that officials at Moscow's hospital No 64, which treated him, have behaved strangely.

UK trade minister: NHS not 'up for sale'

Tourists shot dead at French gas station

29 July 2019; DW: At least three people were killed when young shooters opened fired at a gas station in southern France. The mayor of Ollioules urged parents to watch their children, saying "delinquency" was at the root of the problem.

A shooting at a gas station in the southern French town of Ollioules on Sunday night killed three people and wounded one other.

Two men and one woman were among those killed, regional newspaper Var-Martin reported.

Germany: Rescuers reach two men trapped in flooded cave

29 July 2019; DW: Two men exploring Germany's Falkenstein Cave were trapped after heavy rains caused the cave to flood, blocking their exit. Divers have so far been able to extract one of them.

One of the two men trapped in a flooded cave in Germany's mountainous Swabian Alps region has been rescued, the leader of the mountain search and rescue team said on Monday. The fate of the second person is still unclear.

UK’s business lobby warns EU unprepared for no-deal Brexit

LONDON (AP) — Britain’s largest business group is warning that neither the U.K. nor the European Union is prepared for the country to leave the 28-nation bloc without a deal.

The Confederation of British Industry released a report outlining 200 recommendations for both sides to accelerate Brexit preparations. It concludes that “the EU lags behind the U.K. in seeking to prevent the worst effects of a no-deal scenario.”

New British PM to visit Scotland amid disagreement on no-deal Brexit

LONDON, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Britain's new Prime Minister Boris Johnson will make his first official visit to Scotland on Monday amid opposition to his insistence on pulling the country out of the European Union (EU) even without a deal.

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said last week that Scotland, which voted to remain in the EU in the 2016 referendum, needed an "alternative option" to Johnson's Brexit strategy, as local media reported.

Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson also refused to back a no-deal Brexit.
