Nagpur, Aug 17 (PTI) Congress leader Mukul Wasnik on Tuesday said he would not like to comment on the PM Gati Shakti master plan announced by prime minister Narendra Modi, saying everyone knows how the schemes announced by him end up.

Modi announced in his August 15 speech that the Centre would soon launch a Rs 100 lakh crore master plan for infrastructure development.

Mumbai, Aug 13 (PTI) The Bombay High Court on Friday granted bail to a 28-year-old man, arrested for allegedly being a member of the banned terror outfit - Islamic State (ISIS).

A division bench of Justices S S Shinde and N J Jamadar allowed the petition filed by Iqbal Ahmed Kabir Ahmed challenging an order of a special court refusing bail to him.

"The order passed by the special court is quashed. The appellant (Ahmed) shall be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs one lakh and one or two solvent sureties of the same amount," the bench said.

Mumbai, Aug 10 (PTI) A 45-year-old self-proclaimed godman has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman who contacted him seeking help with her family problems in the western suburb of Kandivali here, police said on Tuesday.

Based on a complaint lodged by the 37-year-old victim, the police arrested Pranav Shukla alias Pranavanand Maharaj on Sunday, an official said.

Nagpur, Aug 6 (PTI) The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court on Friday dismissed a petition which sought that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah be disqualified under the Representation of the People (RP) Act, 1951.

The court also imposed a cost on the petitioner Ram Khobragade, a lawyer.

Mumbai, Aug 6 (PTI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday expectedly kept interest rates unchanged at a record low as it chose to support economic revival over inflation.

The six-member Monetary Policy Committee voted unanimously to retain the main repurchase rate at 4 per cent but was split on continuing with the lower-for-longer stance.

Mumbai, Aug 2 (PTI) A group of Shiv Sena workers allegedly ransacked a neon signboard with 'Adani Airport' written on it near the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj close to the airport in Mumbai on Monday afternoon, a police official said.

They shouted slogans against the signboard when the airport is named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Some of the workers later came on to the Western Express Highway located nearby due to which traffic movement on the city's arterial north-south road was disrupted for some time, the official said.

Mumbai, Jul 31 (PTI) The first-ever Zika virus infection case in Maharashtra has been reported from Pune district, a health department statement said on Saturday.

The woman patient has recovered completely, it said.

"She and her family members do not have any symptoms," the statement added.

The 50-year-old woman, a resident of Belsar village in Purandar tehsil, received her test report on Friday. The report said that besides Zika infection, she was also infected by the Chickungunya virus.

Thane, Jul 30 (PTI) Police have arrested a woman and three others in Thane city of Maharashtra for allegedly threatening and molesting a female artist by promising to give a role to her in a Hindi film, an official said on Friday.

The 24-year-old victim lodged a complaint at Kasarvadavali police station, where an offence was registered against the accused on Thursday night, he said.

Mumbai, Jul 25 (PTI) Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday asked who funded the alleged snooping of politicians and journalists by Pegasus and compared it with the Hiroshima bombing, saying while the attack on the Japanese city had resulted in death of people, the spying by the Israeli software led to "death of freedom".

"The modern technology has taken us back to slavery," Raut said in his weekly column 'Rokhthok' in the Sena mouthpiece Saamana.

He said the Pegasus case is "no different from the atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima".

Mumbai, Jul 23 (PTI) As many as 129 people have died in rain-related incidents including landslides in Maharashtra in the last 48 hours, a senior official from the state disaster management department said on Friday evening.

This included 38 deaths in a landslide in a village in the coastal Raigad district's Mahad tehsil on Thursday, he told PTI.

"The death toll in Maharashtra in the last 48 hours has reached 129. Most of the deaths are from Raigad and Satara districts," the official said.
