2 Palestinians killed in Gaza explosion

GAZA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Two Palestinians were killed on Tuesday night in an explosion southwest of the Gaza City, medics and security officials said.

Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza, told reporters that the two killed Palestinians are security officers, adding that three other people were injured.

An official press statement of the Hamas-run Ministry of Interior said that the security forces are investigating the explosion.

Israeli military kills 3 Palestinians at Gaza border -- reports

GAZA, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli military opened fire at a group of Palestinians as they tried to cross the Gaza border, killing three men and injuring another, local media reported on Sunday.

The Israeli military said an attack helicopter and a tank fired at the "armed suspects adjacent to the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip."

Palestinian officials confirmed the casualties, according to the reports.

Clashes with Israeli soldiers in eastern Gaza wound 63 Palestinians: medics

GAZA, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- At least 63 Palestinians were injured on Friday afternoon during clashes with Israeli soldiers in eastern Gaza Strip, close to the border with Israel, medics said.

Ashraf al-Qedra, Health Ministry Spokesman in Gaza, told reporters that 63 Palestinian demonstrators were injured, including 32 who were shot by live ammunition and taken to hospitals for medical treatment.

He said that among the casualties, there were 17 children and three women.

Israeli fighter jets attack Gaza militants' facilities in response to rockets

GAZA, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Israeli war jets struck early on Saturday facilities of militant groups in the Gaza Strip in response to earlier rockets attack from the coastal enclave into southern Israel, security sources and local media said.

The sources and the Gaza-based local media said that Israeli war jets struck a military facility that belongs to Islamic Hamas movement in eastern Gaza, and another one in central Gaza Strip.

Residents in eastern and central Gaza Strip heard the noise of the Israeli fighter jets and the bombings. No injuries or damage were reported.

"Extreme, unilateral" U.S. measures undermine peace process with Israel: Palestinian PM

RAMALLAH, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Ishtaye said Tuesday that the "extreme and unilateral measures" of the United States have undermined the peace process with Israel.

Ishtaye told 37 American congressmen at his office in Ramallah that "the U.S. administration's measures have annulled all the final-status issues."

Israeli soldier found stabbed to death in West Bank: army

08 August 2019; DW: A young Israeli soldier reported missing overnight has been found dead in the West Bank. Security forces said the body had several stab wounds.

An Israeli soldier was found dead near a Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank on Thursday. His body had multiple stab wounds, the army said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced the killing as a terrorist attack.

The soldier was identified as 19-year-old Dvir Sorek from the West Bank settlement of Ofra.

51 Palestinians injured in weekly anti-Israel protests in eastern Gaza

GAZA, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- At least 51 Palestinians were injured on Friday afternoon in the weekly anti-Israel protests in the eastern Gaza Strip close to the border with Israel.

According to the doctors of the Gaza Health Ministry, 26 Palestinians were injured by Israeli soldiers' gunfire, including two photojournalists covering the demonstrations.

Hundreds of protesters gathered on Friday afternoon in eastern Gaza to join the 69th Friday rally that started in March last year.

China contributes 1 mln USD to UN relief agency's food program in Gaza

RAMALLAH, July 30 (Xinhua) -- China on Tuesday signed an agreement with the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to contribute 1 million U.S. dollars to the UN agency's food program in the Gaza Strip.

The deal was signed between Guo Wei, director of the China's Office to the State of Palestine, and Marc Lassouaoui, a senior official of the UNRWA.
