Iranian investigator says Israel likely behind attack on container ship

TEHRAN, March 14 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Israel is highly likely to have been behind an attack in the Mediterranean this week that damaged an Iranian container ship, an Iranian investigator said.

Israeli officials did not comment on Friday when asked if Israel was involved in the incident on Wednesday.

The container ship Shahr e Kord was hit by an explosive object which caused a small fire, but no one on board was hurt, Iran reported on Friday. Two maritime security sources said initial indications were that the ship had been intentionally targeted by an unknown source.

TEHRAN, March 13 (NNN-AGENCIES) — An Iranian container ship was damaged in an attack in the Mediterranean, the state-run shipping company said, adding it would take legal action to identify the perpetrators of what it called terrorism and naval piracy.

The ship, Shahr e Kord, was slightly damaged in Wednesday’s incident by an explosive object which caused a small fire, but no one on board was hurt, the spokesman, Ali Ghiasian, said, according to state media.

Iran's president urges removal of U.S. sanctions to settle nuke disputes

TEHRAN, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday urged the United States to remove sanctions against Iran, official IRNA news agency reported.

"If we are seeking diplomacy (to settle the disputes), the clear path is to lift sanctions ... there is no other option," Rouhani was quoted as saying.

The Iranian president made the remarks in a telephone conversation with the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday.

Irish FM Urges Trust-Building Efforts To Revive 2015 Nuclear Agreement

TEHRAN, Mar 10 (NNN-IRNA) – Irish Foreign Minister, Simon Coveney, called on “engagement with all the key players” in the 2015 nuclear agreement, to build trust, in order to revive the deal, according to an interview published yesterday.

“What is required now is engagement with all of the key players, who are responsible for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in the first place P5+1 structure,” Coveney said, in the interview.

Iran urges full implementation of UN resolution on 2015 nuke deal

TEHRAN, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday that the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 is needed to maintain and revive the 2015 international nuclear agreement, the official news agency IRNA reported.

"Iran is committed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and is the only party that has paid a price for it, but this situation can not continue in this way," Rouhani said during a meeting in the capital Tehran with visiting Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney.

Iran’s FM Slams U.S. Continued “Maximum Pressure” Amid COVID-19

TEHRAN, Mar 6 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, denounced yesterday, the U.S. continued sanctions against Iran, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Even amid COVID-19, the U.S. continues to exert Trump’s failed ‘maximum pressure’ on Iranians. Isn’t it time to try something that may actually work?” Zarif wrote on social media.

The Iranian diplomat posted the image of a 6-year-old Iranian girl, who was affected by the U.S. sanctions, as well as, a complaint made by her.
