CHISINAU, June 27. /TASS/: The governments of Russia and Moldova have resumed the talks on a 200 mln euro loan to be provided by Moscow to Chisinau, the extension of which has been blocked by Moldova’s pro-European opposition via the Constitutional Court, the republic’s President Igor Dodon informed on Saturday as he published on his Facebook page the text of a letter by Russian Deputy Finance Minister Timur Maksimov addressed to Moldovan Finance Minister Serghei Puscuta.

CHISINAU, April 10. /TASS/: Russia will provide Moldova with a military plane to deliver a large shipment of anti-coronavirus medical equipment, Moldova’s President Igor Dodon announced Friday.

"Next week, with support of our friends from China and the Russian Federation, which will provide us with a military plane, we will be able to deliver about 40 tonnes of medical supplies," the president said.

CHISINAU, March 27. /TASS/: A shipment of humanitarian aid from Russia has been delivered to Moldova, Russian Ambassador to Chisinau Oleg Vasnetsov told TASS. The shipment particularly contains coronavirus testing systems.

"A charter flight from Moscow delivered the aid shipment," he said.

Moldovan President Igor Dodon earlier thanked Russian authorities for providing the country with tests, medicines and medical equipment.

The same flight brought a group of Moldovan nationals who had been unable to return home due to a state of emergency declared in the country.

CHISINAU, March 8. /TASS/: Moldova’s President Igor Dodon interrupted his working visit to Russia after a novel coronavirus case was confirmed in his country, the Moldovan leader wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday.

"I made a decision to interrupt my working visit to Moscow where meetings were planned in the coming days with the leadership of the Russian Federation. I am returning home today to get fully involved in the authorities’ work for overcoming difficulties that have arisen," Dodon wrote.

CHISINAU, February 7. /TASS/: The Moldovan government has restored relations with the Russian cabinet, the country’s Prime Minister Ion Chicu told NTV Moldova on Friday.

"I held talks with Russia’s former prime minister and with the current one," he pointed out. According to Chicu, the resumption of dialogue has made it possible to expand the list of Moldova’s export goods that are not subject to customs duties and issue additional permits to Moldovan transportation companies to deliver cargo to Russia.

CHISINAU, November 13. /TASS/: The Russian embassy in Moldova is concerned about the political crisis in the country following a split in the ruling coalition and the government’s resignation, the embassy issued a statement on Facebook.

"The Russian embassy in Moldova is closely monitoring the political process in the country. We call for maintaining domestic stability for the sake of the country’s people and the rule of law," the statement reads.

CHISINAU, September 23. /TASS/: The majority of Moldovan citizens is against the country's accession to NATO, a poll held by Moldova's Association of Sociologists and Demographers informs.

"45.8% of those polled are against joining the alliance, while 23% support it. 13.2% noted that they would not take part in a referendum on this issue, 13.6% were undecided. The other 4.3% do not know what NATO is and were unable to answer the question," the poll results stated.

15 June 2019; DW: Moldova's Democratic Party, led by powerful oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, announced its resignation on Friday, ceding power to a new coalition.

However, the Democrats consider the new Moldovan government to be illegal and that a snap election should be held to decide who leads the impoverished ex-Soviet republic out of a political crisis.

CHISINAU, June 15. /TASS/: Vladimir Plahotniuc, the leader of Moldova’s ruling-turned-opposition Democratic Party left the country "for a couple of days," the party’s press service said on Saturday.

"Due to media speculations about the alleged disappearance of the Moldova Democratic Party leader, we announce that Vladimir Plahotniuc left the country for a couple of days to visit his family," the press service said in a statement.

After months of talks, an unprecedented alliance was finally formed on Saturday between the pro-European ACUM group and pro-Russian Socialist Party of President Igor Dodon. ACUM's Maia Sandu, a former minister and World Bank adviser, was named prime minister on Saturday afternoon.
