PM concludes his two-day official visit to Turkiye, leaves for Pakistan

ANKARA, June 4 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday left for Pakistan after concluding his two-day official visit to Turkiye.

At the Ankara International airport, the prime minister was seen off by senior officials of Turkiye’s ministry of foreign affairs, members of Turkish parliament, Ambassador of Pakistan Dr Yousaf Junaid and other members of the embassy, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

At the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the prime minister attended his inauguration ceremony in Ankara on June 3.

Turkey: Airbus heads towards 500-jet order from IndiGo

ISTANBUL, June 4 (Reuters) - Airbus (AIR.PA) is closing in on a potentially record deal to sell 500 narrowbody A320-family jets to India's largest carrier, Indigo (INGL.NS), industry sources said on Sunday.

The European planemaker has emerged as front-runner for an order eclipsing Air India's historic provisional purchase of 470 jets in February, the sources said on the sidelines of an airline industry meeting in Istanbul.

Airbus and Boeing are also competing in talks to sell 25 wide-body jets to the same airline, they said.

Sweden, Turkey, Finland set for more Swedish NATO membership talks

ISTANBUL, June 4 (Reuters) - Turkey, Sweden and Finland will meet later this month to try to overcome ojections that have delayed Sweden's NATO membership bid, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Sunday after meeting Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey in March ratified Finland's bid for membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, but still objects to Sweden joining the alliance, as does Hungary.

Turkey has said Stockholm harbours members of militant groups it considers to be terrorists.

Pakistan: PM Shehbaz invites Turkish entrepreneurs to expand investment in Pakistan

ANKARA, Jun 3 (APP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday invited the Turkish investors and businessmen to expand the investment in diverse areas of Pakistan.

He was talking to a delegation of Anadolu Group comprising of CEO coca cola CCI, Karim Yahi, Coca cola CCI chief strategy office Atilla Yerlikaya and Coca Cola CCI Head of public policy Taylan Coban which called on him here.

The prime minister encouraged the Anadolu group for bringing investment in Pakistan and providing job opportunities to the people of Pakistan.

Türkiye records best May export value at 21.7 bln USD: minister

ANKARA, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye's export value in May increased by 14.4 percent year on year to 21.7 billion U.S. dollars, marking the highest figure of the month ever, a cabinet minister said Friday.

"This is the highest May export value of all time," Trade Minister Mehmet Mus said in a tweet.

Imports increased by 16 percent year on year to 34.3 billion dollars in May, he said in a statement released by the ministry the same day.

Turkiye-Arab relations to flourish with Erdogan's re-election: Experts

Erdogan won last Sunday's runoff vote with 52.16 per cent.

Putin, Zelenskyy to visit Turkiye for talks with Erdogan

01 June 2023; MEMO: Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, are expected to visit Turkiye to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan soon, Turkish media reports.

According to the report, both leaders are expected to visit Erdogan to discuss the situation of the war and the fate of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

On Monday, Russia warned that the grain deal was in danger unless a UN agreement to overcome obstacles to Russian grain and fertiliser exports is fulfilled.
