ISLAMABAD, June 25 (APP): President Dr Arif Alvi on Friday urged the international community to take serious note of recent incidents of illegal selling of Uranium in black market in India as such radioactive material can fall into wrong hands endangering human lives and security of the nations.

He deplored that such an important incident had been ignored in the international media.

ISLAMABAD, June 23 (APP): National Security Advisor, Dr. Moeed Yusuf Wednesday said that Pakistan condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including state terrorism against people under illegal occupation.

He said Pakistan had been a victim of terrorism planned, supported and sponsored from across its borders which unfortunately remained a reality even today.

LAHORE, Pakistan, June 23 (Reuters) - A bomb attack in a residential area of Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore killed four people on Wednesday, including a child, and wounded 14, police said, but there was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Among those wounded in the powerful blast were some police officers manning a checkpoint next to the house of Hafiz Saeed, the jailed founder of Islamist militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Islamabad, Jun 23 (PTI) Pakistan has received another two million doses of a China-made coronavirus vaccine, as the country hopes to enhance its immunisation drive.

A special flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) PK-6852 airlifted two million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine from the Beijing Capital International Airport to Islamabad on Tuesday.

It is in addition to 1.55 million doses of Sinovac vaccines from China to Pakistan on Sunday.

Islamabad, Jun 20 (PTI) In the wake of looming uncertainty in Afghanistan due to the withdrawal of the US troops, Pakistan has announced that it would complete the fencing of its border with the war-torn country by the end of June.

Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed stated this on Saturday on the floor of the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament, the Dawn newspaper reported.

ISLAMABAD, June 16 (APP): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has called upon the President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the United Nations Secretary General to take note of the repression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), calling for an urgent action.

ISLAMABAD, June 14 (APP): Pakistan on Monday was elected as regular member of the governing body of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Elections took place virtually at the 109th session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) in Geneva. Pakistan was among the four newly elected Regular members from Asia-Pacific Group (ASPAG) for the term 2021-2024, Foreign Office spokesperson in a press release said.

ISLAMABAD, June 12 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan has called upon the world leaders to crack down on online hate speech and Islamophobia following the deadly truck attack in London-Ontario, Canada.  

“Everyone is shocked in [Pakistan], because we saw the family picture, and so a family being targeted like that has had a deep impact in Pakistan,” Prime Minister Khan told the CBC’s chief political correspondent Rosemary Barton in an interview posted on its website on Saturday. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is the main news outlet in Canada. 

QUETTA, Pakistan (AP) — A speeding bus carrying pilgrims overturned on a highway and fell into a ravine in a remote area in southwestern Pakistan before dawn on Friday, killing at least 20 people and injuring 50 others, police and officials said.

The accident happened in Khuzdar, a district in Baluchistan province, local police official Hafeez Ullah Mengal said. Rescuers transported the dead and injured to military and government hospitals, he added.

ISLAMABAD, June 8 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday expressing grief over the killing of a Pakistani-origin family in Canada said the world needed to act holistically to counter Islamophobia.

”Saddened to learn of the killing of a Muslim Pakistani-origin Canadian family in London, Ontario” he wrote in a tweet.

“This condemnable act of terrorism reveals the growing Islamophobia in Western countries,” he stressed.
