Itanagar, Oct 21 (PTI) Four Army personnel were killed in a defence chopper crash in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday and search is on for a fifth person, a defence spokesperson said.
The bodies of the four Army personnel have been recovered from the crash site in a densely wooded mountainous area 35 km from the border with China, he said.
Itanagar, Sep 12 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Police has rescued four "kidnapped" girls from a lodge in Assam's Guwahati, officials said on Monday.
Personnel of Arunachal Pradesh Police in coordination with Assam Police officers rescued the minors in a joint operation on Sunday and arrested a woman, who has emerged as the prime suspect, they said.

New Delhi, Mar 31 (PTI) Forest cover in the Northeast reduced by 1,020 sq km in 2021 compared to the area in 2019 mainly due to anthropogenic pressure and developmental activities, the government told the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
Responding to a query on loss of forest and tree cover in the area, Minister of State for Environment Ashwini Choubey said that as per the latest India State of Forest Report (ISFR) 2021, the forest cover of the region stood at 1,69,521 sq km while the tree cover stood at 4,574 sq km.
Itanagar, Feb 11 (PTI) A POCSO court in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh has sentenced a 35-year-old man from Assam to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for repeatedly raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter.
West Kameng POCSO Special Judge Tageng Padoh on Thursday also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Bhawani Chetry, a native of Assam's Biswanath district.
Itanagar, May 1 (PTI) The white-bellied heron, a rare and elusive bird, was spotted at Walong in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, officials said on Saturday.
Walong is around 557 kilometers from the state capital.
The bird was spotted and photographed by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Anjaw Santosh Kumar Reddy, Range Forest Officer Nosing Pul and scientist Dekbin Yonggam earlier this month.

Itanagar, Feb 23 (PTI) A new species of alpine plant in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang district has been discovered by a group of scientists of three institutes of the country, according to a journal that published their research paper.
The new species belongs to the family of Himalayan sunflower, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology research fellow Dr Lobsang Tashi Thungon, who is a member of the team, said.
Itanagar, Sep 15 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that he tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday and is presently in home isolation in New Delhi.
"I have undergone Covid test RT-PCR and have tested positive for Covid19. I am asymptomatic and feeling healthy," Khandu wrote in his official Twitter handle.
He said that he has self-isolated himself and requested everyone who came in contact with him to adhere to the standard operating procedure.
Khandu went to the national capital on official visit on September 12.
Itanagar, Sep 12 (PTI) Five youths who were allegedly abducted by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China near the McMahon line in Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Subansiri were released on Saturday in Anjaw district, around 1,000 km away.
The youths were handed over to the Indian Army by the PLA after completing necessary formalities, Tezpur-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Harsh Warrdhan Pande said.
