Biden administration to undo Medicaid work requirements

Washington, Feb 13 (AP-PTI) The Biden administration is moving to roll back Medicaid work requirements in its latest effort to undo a controversial Trump-era policy.

Federal health officials planned Friday to inform 10 states that they would revoke permissions granted by the Trump administration to impose such requirements, according to a Biden official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal plans. Officials were also set to withdraw the past administration's invitation for states to apply for approval for work requirements.

Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) is an umbrella body of 40 farmer unions protesting at various Delhi border points against three farm laws.

India: Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha recites poem in support of farmers

Mumbai, Feb 11 (PTI) Doubling down on her support to the farmers protesting against the three agri laws passed by the Centre, actor Sonakshi Sinha has narrated a heartfelt poem, described as a "tribute to the hands that feed us".

The 33-year-old actor, who first expressed solidarity with the farmers last week, shared a video on Instagram on Wednesday evening to share her thoughts about the protesting farmers.

Islamic Jihad will not take part in Palestine election

11 Feb 2021; MEMO: Palestinian movement Islamic Jihad announced yesterday that it will not take part in the presidential and legislative elections due to be held later this year, a statement released by the group said.

In the statement, the movement said: "We will not take part in the elections under the Oslo agreement which undermined the rights and principles of the Palestinian people."

Ghaziabad, Feb 10 (PTI) Punjabi singer Babbu Maan reached the Ghazipur protest site on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border on Wednesday, met the farmers and extended support to their protest against the contentious agriculture laws.

Maan, who has earlier supported the farmers protest through his posts on social media, said he was ready to debate with Bollywood artists who think the movement was wrong.
