30 Nov 2021; MEMO: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said yesterday that Israeli violations of Palestinian human rights and the illegal Israeli settlements erode the chances of peace, Wafa news agency reported.

Marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Guterres said: "The situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory – including East Jerusalem continues to pose a significant challenge to international peace and security."

30 Nov 2021; MEMO: Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas warned on Monday that the Palestinians "will not tolerate Israeli occupation forever." Abbas made his comment on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, and stressed that continuous occupation "undermines" the two-state solution.

29 Nov 2021; MEMO: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said yesterday that the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories is a challenge to international peace and security.

His remarks came in a tweet which marked the International Day in Solidarity with Palestine.

"On #PalestineDay, let's reaffirm commitment to the Palestinian people in their quest to achieve their rights & build a future of peace & dignity for both Palestinians & Israelis," Guterres tweeted.

29 Nov 2021; MEMO: Israeli occupation authorities yesterday released the Deputy Director-General of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Council, Sheikh Najeh Bakirat, on condition of deportation from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the occupied West Bank.

The Safa news agency reported, Bakirat saying: "I was released on oppressive conditions –banned from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque for 20 days and from entering into the occupied West Bank for 30 days."

29 Nov 2021; MEMO: The head of the Hezbollah bloc in the Lebanese parliament warned on Sunday of a possible coup against the Taif Agreement which ended 15 years of civil war (1975-1990) through which power in the country was split among Muslims and Christians, Anadolu has reported. Mohammad Raad said that the coup would favour the axis in favour of normalisation with Israel.

29 Nov 2021; MEMO: The senior religious adviser to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has condemned the visit by Israel's President Isaac Herzog to Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied Palestinian city of Hebron. Given that Herzog was accompanied by Israeli soldiers, it is being reported that he "stormed" into the mosque, much of which has been commandeered by Israel for use by illegal settlers.

27 Nov 2021; MEMO: The European Union (EU) has criticised Israel's continuous settlement construction and warned that time is running out for the two-state solution with Israel.

On Friday, EU Representative to the Palestinian Authority Sven Kuhn von Burgsdorff confirmed that the Israeli settlement plans defy international law and destabilise the status quo.

27 Nov 2021; MEMO: Speaker of Tunisian Parliament Rached Ghannouchi has blamed President Kais Saied for the death of MP Imad Al-Khumairi's wife after she was deprived of receiving treatment on health insurance, The New Khalij reported on Friday.

As part of the exceptional measures imposed by Saied following the suspension of Parliament, he suspended the health insurance and salaries of MPs.

27 Nov 2021; MEMO: Amid global scandals regarding Israel's spyware firm, the NSO Group, the Israeli Ministry of Defence has reduced the number of countries to which Israeli companies can sell cyber technologies, The Times of Israel reported on Thursday.

In a report about November updates, the Israeli Ministry of Defence said that it reduced the number of countries to 37, down from 102, the Israeli Calcalist Business News daily said.

26 Nov 2021; MEMO: The Sudanese Congress Party, on Friday, said political detainees in the country have staged an open-ended hunger strike to protest their detention since 25 October and the "denial of their legal rights", Anadolu News Agency reports.

"The political detainees who are being held in the cells of the security apparatus near the Shendi station in the capital, Khartoum, staged an open hunger strike starting today, Friday," the party said in a statement, without referring to their numbers.
