17 October 2022; MEMO: Algeria's National Liberation Front demanded yesterday that France should apologise for the massacre committed by French police against peaceful Algerian protesters in Paris in 1961, Anadolu has reported. Thousands of Algerians living in France took to the streets of Paris sixty-one years ago today to protest against a curfew imposed on them. The then French Police Commander in Paris, Maurice Papon, issued orders to suppress the protest with violence.

17 October 2022; MEMO: An Israeli security official said yesterday that the siege imposed on the occupied Palestinian city of Nablus would "remain in effect indefinitely."

Israeli broadcaster Kan quoted the official as saying that there had never been any "armed attack emerging from Nablus' siege," stressing that the blockade would remain "as needed."

15 October 2022; MEMO: Amnesty International has called on the Lebanese authorities on Friday to stop implementing a plan to involuntarily return Syrian refugees to their country after statements were made by officials to resume their deportation in batches starting next week.

15 October 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas recommended on Friday that Fatah should not listen to the US or Israeli advice in order to maintain an internal Palestinian reconciliation.

Speaking to a local TV channel, senior Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzouq announced that all previous attempts to end the internal Palestinian division have not come to fruition due to US and Israeli intervention.

15 October 2022; MEMO: Hundreds of Palestinian mourners on Friday participated in the funeral procession of Palestinian doctor Abdullah Abu Al-Teen, 43, who was killed by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank city of Jenin.

The Palestinian doctor was severely injured by Israeli occupation forces while trying to rescue wounded Palestinians in front of Jenin Government Hospital.

Dr Abu Al-Teen was pronounced dead shortly after being shot, the Palestinian Health Ministry shared.

16 October 2022; MEMO: Thousands of Jordanians have staged a massive protest on Friday in downtown Amman in solidarity with Al-Aqsa Mosque and to denounce Israeli provocations against worshippers at the Islamic compound.

Delhi; 16 Oct 2022 (UMMN): According to the latest report, India has slipped to the 107th position in the Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2022 of 121 countries, from its 2021 position of 101st, falling behind its neighbours Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

In 2021, India ranked 101 out of 116 countries while in 2020 the country was placed at 94th position.

14 October 2022; MEMO: Amid talks of a third Intifada (uprising) on social media, Israeli occupation forces have begun to use live fire against Palestinian protestors in the West Bank. Tension has been soaring across the Occupied Territories over recent weeks, with Jerusalem being the epicentre of riots between far-right Israeli settlers and armed Occupation soldiers on one side, and Palestinians resisting Occupation on the other.

14 October 2022; MEMO: British intelligence agencies were aware of their Canadian counterpart's involvement in trafficking Shamima Begum and other Britons to Syria only days after it took place, sources have reportedly revealed.

14 October 2022; MEMO: Finland has violated the rights of its child nationals stranded in detention camps in north-eastern Syria, according to United Nations child rights experts.

In a statement by the UN Child Rights Committee, which consists of 18 independent experts tasked with monitoring the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, it stressed that "Finland has the responsibility and power to protect the Finnish children in the Syrian camps against an imminent risk to their lives by taking action to repatriate them".
