Russian forces destroy six Ukrainian command posts - top brass

MOSCOW, November 27./TASS/: Russian forces have destroyed six command posts of Ukrainian troops in the Kherson and Kharkov regions, as well as in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov told a briefing on Sunday.

"Six command posts of the enemy were destroyed in the area of the settlements of Sadovoye, Dudchany and Zolotaya Balka in the Kherson region, Yampol in the DPR as well as Kislovka in the Kharkov region," along with 62 artillery units in firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 137 regions," the spokesman said.

Kremlin defends Russian-led security alliance after Armenia criticism

MOSCOW, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Sunday said attempts to break up a Russian-led security alliance had always existed and would continue to do so, but insisted that the alliance remained in high demand following criticism this week from Armenia.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called into question the effectiveness of the six-nation Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) at a summit this week.

Russia’s COVID-19 case tally grows by 6,088 over past day

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 6,088 over the past day to 21,568,846, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Saturday.

The death toll rose by 53 to 391,789.

The daily numbers of new cases and deaths are down from the day before when they were 5,992 and 56, respectively.

Recoveries rose by 5,088 over the past day, compared with 5,337 a day before, reaching 20,977,854.

Lavrov says Ukrainians will be liberated from neo-Nazi rulers

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said in a documentary aired on Saturday that Ukrainians deserve friendly relations with their Slavic brothers and will be liberated from neo-Nazi rulers.

"The Ukrainian people will be liberated from neo-Nazi rulers. It deserves to live in good neighborliness, friendship, prosperity next to its Slavic brothers," he said in the film aired by the Rossiya-24 television channel.

Russia: Putin, Aliyev discuss implementing agreements on Armenia second time this week

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/: Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev held a telephone conversation for the second time this week to discuss agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Kremlin said in a statement on Saturday.

"Further steps to implement the entire range of trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia with an emphasis on practical issues of unblocking transport and economic ties in the region were considered," the statement said.

Britain says Russia likely removing nuclear warheads from missiles and firing at Ukraine

Nov 26 (Reuters) - Russia is likely removing nuclear warheads from ageing nuclear cruise missiles and firing unarmed munitions at Ukraine, Britain's military intelligence said on Saturday.

The defense ministry said open source imagery shows wreckage of an air launched cruise missile fired at Ukraine which seem to have been designed in the 1980s as a nuclear delivery system, adding that ballast was probably being substituted for the warheads.

Russia’s Justice Ministry puts Meta Platform Inc on register of extremist organizations

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/: Meta Platforms (outlawed in Russia) has been put on the register of extremist organizations, Russia’s Justice Ministry said on Friday.

Last month, the ministry updated its list of public associations and religious organizations, which are to be suspended or banned by enforced court rulings under the federal law on combating extremist activities.

Russia deems Iran human rights investigation illegitimate — envoy

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/: Russia believes that the resolution to create an international mission to investigate the rumored human rights violations during the protests in Iran, adopted the day before under a relevant resolution of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) at a special session in Geneva is not legitimate, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN office and other international organizations in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, said on the Rossiya-24 TV channel on Friday.
