Macron warns Turkey against meddling in France elections

In an interview with France 5 television channel, Macron said Turkish attempts to meddle in the upcoming French presidential elections would take the form of "lies" spread by state- run media outlets.

France to reopen embassy in Libya capital Tripoli

PARIS, March 24 (NNN-AGENCIES) — France will reopen its embassy in the Libyan capital, Tripoli next Monday.

French President Emmanuel Macron revealed this when he received the new President and Vice President of the Libyan Presidential Council at the Elysée Palace on Tuesday.

The gesture signifies support for the interim government.

France is ready to use Russian vaccine once it is approved by EMA - Foreign Ministry

France enters third wave of coronavirus pandemic: PM

PARIS, March 16 (Xinhua) -- France has entered "a form of third wave (of the coronavirus pandemic) characterized by numerous virus variants," Prime Minister Jean Castex said on Tuesday, stressing that his government still considers vaccination a top priority of its strategy to stem the spread of the virus.

Covid-19: France’s cases top four million

PARIS, March 13 (NNN-AGENCIES) — The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in France rose above four million on Friday, as the health ministry reported 25,229 new infections.

Friday’s increase was lower than the 23,507 new cases reported last Friday, and took the total number of confirmed infections since the start of the pandemic to 4.01 million.

France has the world’s sixth-highest total of COVID-19 cases, just behind Britain, which has had more than 4.24 million infections.

France speeds up researchers' access to secret Algeria war archives

10 Mar 2021; MEMO: France announced yesterday that researchers and historians will get easier access to classified government documents, especially those related to the controversial Algeria war, Anadolu news agency reported.

The French Presidency said in a statement that President Emmanuel Macron has ordered the French archives services to speed up access to documents that are more than 50 years old, "notable documents relating to the Algerian war".

Covid-19: World sees 10,685 new deaths in 24 hours: France

PARIS, March 7 (NNN-AGENCIES) — The novel coronavirus has killed at least 2,581,034 people since the outbreak emerged in China in December 2019.

At least 116,031,470 cases of coronavirus have been registered.

The vast majority have recovered, though some have continued to experience symptoms weeks or even months later.

These figures are based on daily tolls provided by health authorities in each country and exclude later re-evaluations by statistical organisations, as has happened in Russia, Spain and Britain.
