UK unemployment rate hits fresh low since 1974

LONDON, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The United Kingdom's (UK) unemployment rate in the three months to August decreased to 3.5 percent, the lowest since February 1974, as long-term sickness kept some workers out of the labor market, official data showed on Tuesday.

The number of people unemployed for between 6 and 12 months increased in the June-August period, while there were decreases for the short-term (up to 6 months) and long-term (over 12 months) unemployed, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

UAE President to meet Russia's Putin on Tuesday

'Hope Turkiye approves our NATO membership,' Finnish PM says

According to the report, Marin said that they discussed the approval process of her country's NATO membership with Erdogan in Prague last week.

Missiles hit Ukrainian city, alarms elsewhere keep up fear

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — A new round of missile attacks struck the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia Tuesday, as the death toll from the previous day’s widespread Russian missile barrage across Ukraine rose to 19.

Missiles struck a school, a medical facility and residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia, city council secretary Anatoliy Kurtev said. The State Emergency Service said 12 S-300 missiles slammed into public facilities, setting off a large fire in the area. One person was killed.

Russia: Kadyrov says he is satisfied with special military operation 100%

GROZNY, October 10. /TASS/: The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has said that he is now absolutely satisfied with the conduct of the special operation.

"Now I am one hundred percent satisfied with the way the special military operation is being conducted," he wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday.

Russia: Kremlin lauds efficient work to eliminate consequences of terror attack on Crimean Bridge

MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/: All the services involved in eliminating the consequences of a terror attack on the Crimean Bridge, including the Emergencies Ministry, worked promptly and efficiently, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

On Saturday morning, a truck exploded on the Crimean Bridge, collapsing two eastbound parts of its road section and subsequently setting ablaze a train of fuel tanks on a separate, adjacent rail portion of the bridge. As a result of the blast, three people were killed.

Germany's cybersecurity chief faces dismissal, reports say

BERLIN, Oct 10 (Reuters) - German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser wants to dismiss the country's cybersecurity chief due to possible contacts with people involved with Russian security services, German media reported late on Sunday, citing government sources.

Arne Schoenbohm, president of the BSI federal information security agency, could have had such contacts through the Cyber Security Council of Germany, various outlets reported.
