Pak envoy thanks China for helping Pakistanis evacuation from Sudan

BEIJING, May 1 (APP): Pakistan Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque has expressed appreciation to China for helping more than 200 Pakistani nationals’ evacuation from Sudan.

During a meeting with Liu Jinsong, director-general of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of China, Haque said that China’s assistance demonstrated once again how strong the Pakistan-China friendship is.

Chinese tourists flock to gambling hub Macau for Labour Day holiday

MACAU, April 30 (Reuters) - Hundreds of thousands of mainland Chinese visitors have descended on the world's biggest gambling hub of Macau for the Labour Day holiday, packing tightly into its narrow cobblestone streets and placing bets in its glitzy casinos.

The surge in visitors comes after China and its special administrative region Macau lifted strict COVID-19 restrictions in January, allowing visitors to stream into Macau for the first time in more than three years.

Chinese navy evacuates 493 more people from Sudan, including 221 foreigners

BEIJING, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese naval vessels evacuated 493 people from Sudan in a second evacuation operation that concluded on Saturday, as the evacuees arrived at the Saudi Arabian port of Jeddah, according to an official statement.

The evacuees include 272 Chinese and 221 foreigners from countries such as Pakistan and Brazil.

The first evacuation operation carried out by the Chinese navy earlier this week helped 678 people leave Sudan.

China’s manufacturing contracts, signaling recovery concerns

BEIJING (AP) — China’s factory activity declined in April, an official survey showed Sunday, signaling policymakers’ challenges in sustaining momentum in the country’s economic recovery.

According to the government statistics bureau and an official industry group, a monthly purchasing managers’ index declined to 49.2 from March’s 51.9 on a 100-point scale where numbers below 50 indicate activity contracting.

Chinese combat drone 'circles' Taiwan

29 Apr 2023; AA: At least 38 Chinese aircraft and a combat drone crossed the Taiwan Strait early Friday, the island nation’s Defense Ministry claimed. 

The Chinese jets, including the TB-001 drone, crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s southwest, southeast, and northeast air defense identification zone (ADIZ), according to the ministry which also released the flight paths of the Chinese jets.

BEIJING, April 27. /TASS/: No matter how complicated the conflict in Ukraine may be, it must be resolved at a negotiation table, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said during the meeting with foreign ministers of Central Asian countries in Xi An in northwestern China.

"No matter how complicated the crisis may be, it must be resolved by negotiations; no matter how complicated a conflict may be, it must be resolved only by politics," Qin Gang said, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry website.
