Israel forces uproot 400 Palestinian olive trees in Bethlehem

10 Mar 2020; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces yesterday uprooted 400 olive trees in the farms of Wadi Fukin village, west of occupied Bethlehem, Quds Press reported.

Local Palestinian sources reported that the targeted farm belongs to Palestinian farmer Mohamed Al-Harroub.

According to the sources, 800 olive trees and grape vines have been uprooted by settlers over the past two weeks in the farms of Al-Khader neighbourhood, south of Bethlehem.

Saudi King Salman approved arrest of senior royals

09 Mar 2020; MEMO: Saudi’s King Salman approved the arrests of three senior royals over the weekend, local sources told Reuters.

On Friday, his son, Mohammed Bin Salman, detained the king’s younger brother, and Prince Mohammed Bin Nayef, the king’s nephew and his half-brother Nawaf.

Three of the sources, including a regional source, said Mohammed and Nawaf Bin Nayef were picked up at a private desert camp on Friday. Two sources said Ahmed was taken from his home.

India: Headless body of a Muslim woman found in UP village

Bahraich, Mar 9 (PTI) The headless body of a woman was found in Arhgarha village here on Monday, police said.

Superintendent of Police Vipin Mishra said, "The headless body of a Muslim woman was found in Arhgarha village under Rupaidiha Police Station in an agriculture field of Arhar."

"She was wearing a burqa and green coloured salwar. The woman's head is missing," he added.

Mishra said a team has been formed to ascertain the identity of the of the deceased.

Turkish President Urges Greece To Open Border For Refugees

ISTANBUL, Mar 9 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Sunday, urged Greece to open its border gate for the passage of refugees, who have been waiting in Turkey’s northwestern border for the last 10 days to enter Europe.

“These people will not stay in Greece. They will transit to another European country from there,” Erdogan said, at a meeting in Istanbul, marking International Women’s Day.

He slammed the intervention of Greek security forces against the refugees, at the Pazarkule border crossing.

India: Priyanka slams UP govt over banners in Lucknow to name and shame activists

India: Man held for raping, assaulting minor girl in Maha

Palghar, Mar 7 (PTI) A man has been booked for allegedly raping a minor girl repeatedly and then assaulting her for refusing his marriage proposal, Palghar police in Maharashtra said on Saturday.

The man, identified as Mahendra, was in a relationship with the 17-year-old girl and had raped her several times over the past six months, said a Vasai police official.

India: 690 cases registered, nearly 2,200 held for Delhi riots

New Delhi, Mar 7 (PTI) Delhi police said on Saturday they have registered 690 cases and held nearly 2,200 people in connection with last month's communal riots in northeast Delhi which claimed 53 lives and injured over 200.

Of the total cases registered, 48 were related to Arms Act, police said in a statement.

They said 2,193 people have been either detained or arrested in connection with the riots. Of them, 50 have been arrested on charges under the Arms Act.
