Hyderabad, May 13 (PTI) Young leg-spinner Rahul Chahar earned lavish praise from none other than the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who termed him a "fabulous" talent, an opinion echoed by team's chief coach Mahela Jayawardene.

Chahar bowled an astounding 13 dot balls finishing with superb figures of 1 for 14 in 4 overs, bringing Mumbai Indians back in the match.

India: 1 dead, 14 injured in communal clash in Assam's Hailakandi

Hailakandi (Assam), May 10; PTI/GANASHAKTI: The Army has been called in to maintain peace after curfew was clamped in this district of Assam on Friday following a communal clash that left one person dead and 14 others injured, officials said.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said the curfew was clamped from 6 pm in the district till 7 pm of May 12 as some groups were trying to "indulge in violence and there is apprehension of grave risk and danger to human life and property".

India: Fire in Bhubaneswar-bound Rajdhani Express, none injured

Bhubaneswar, May 11; PTI: A fire broke out on Saturday in Bhubaneswar-bound Rajdhani Express between Balasore and Soro railway stations of Odisha, official sources said.

The fire broke out between 12.50 pm to 1 pm and severely damaged the power car in the rear of the train, but did not spread to any other coach, an official said.

All passengers of the train are safe, he said.

India: Two SpiceJet Boeing flights suffer mid-air glitches

Mumbai, May 11 (PTI) Two of the SpiceJet's Boeing passenger planes- one from Mumbai and other from Bengaluru- suffered mid-air technical glitches, forcing their pilots to terminate journeys with one flight landing back in Mumbai and second diverted to Nagpur Saturday.

SpiceJet flight SG-611, which departed from Mumbai's Chhatrapapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for Chennai around 7.30 am, returned to the city airport due to a mid-air technical glitch after being airborne for about 16 minutes, a source said.

India: Two convicted of raping minor girl in Jharkhand

Ramgarh (Jharkhand), May 11 (PTI) A court in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district has convicted two men of raping a 15-year-old girl two years ago after taking her to Hyderabad.

Ramgarh Additional District Judge (I) Babita Prasad convicted Suraj Barla (23) and Rajesh Munda (25) under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Friday, Additional Public Prosecutor S K Shukla said.

He said the court would pronounce the quantum of punishment on Monday, May 13.

India: Boy mauled to death by stray dogs

Bhopal, May 11 (PTI) A six-year-old boy was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in the city, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place on Friday evening in Shiv Sangam Nagar, police said.

"Six stray dogs attacked the boy, Sanju Jatav, when he was playing on a ground near his house. His mother, who was nearby, raised an alarm and tried to shoo away the dogs. But the canines attacked her as well," Awadhpuri police inspector M L Bhati said.

Sanju, who bled profusely as a result of the attack, was rushed to a hospital. However, he died on the way, he said.

India: Ban on NLFT, ATTF to continue for five years

Agartala, May 11 (PTI) The ban on the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) will continue for five years, a notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

The notification issued by the joint secretary to the department, Satyendra Garg, on May 9 which was made available here Saturday said, there is sufficient cause for declaring NLFT and ATTF as unlawful associations with effect from October 3, 2018 for a period of five years.

India: Guj man killed after being attacked by cow

Ahmedabad, May 11 (PTI) A 60-year-old man died after being attacked by a cow on Friday night in Vinoba Bhave Nagar in Vinzol locality here, police said.

A Vatva MIDC police station official said deceased Gopinath Tiwari and his family were having sugarcane juice from a stall at around 9:30pm when the cow charged at him.

Indian Polls: EC must check vehicles of PM, union ministers: Mamata

Hasnabad/Dum Dum (WB), May 11 (PTI) Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee Saturday alleged that the BJP is using money to buy votes and demanded that all vehicles, including helicopters used by the prime minister and union ministers, be checked by the Election Commission.

Banerjee asked the EC to check even cars and the helicopter used by her, if need be.

She cautioned voters about outsiders and alleged that Union ministers travelling with 'Z' and 'Y' category security carry funds in their vehicles.

Delhi woman alleges gang rape by neighbours

New Delhi, May 11 (PTI) A 21-year-old woman has alleged that she was gang raped by two of her neighbours in their house in northeast Delhi's Seelampur area, police said Saturday.

The woman claimed that the incident took place on May 4. However, she has refused to undergo a medical examination, they said.

In her complaint, she said that the culprits' mother and sister called her to their home where she was offered a drink. After consuming it, she lost consciousness and woke up in a nearby park, hours later, a senior police officer said.
