The meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question will be held at 03:00 p.m. local time (11:00 p.m. Moscow time).

US House Republicans aim to release shutdown-averting measure Saturday

WASHINGTON, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Republicans who control the U.S. House of Representatives expect to release a stopgap spending measure on Saturday, aimed at averting a partial government shutdown by keeping federal agencies open when current funding expires next Friday.

A knowledgeable source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said plans for the release of the continuing resolution, or "CR," were still in flux. It was also unclear what form the measure would take.

China, Tunisia start joint archaeological excavation

TUNIS, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- A joint archaeological excavation operation has been carried out in Tunisia's Ben Arous Forest archaeological site since the end of October, Yu Fei, head of the Chinese operation team, said on Thursday.

Yu, who is from China's national archaeological research center under the National Cultural Heritage Administration (NCHA), told Xinhua that the excavation site is located in the 12,000-square-meter forest area of Ben Arous province, which used to be a settlement site from the Carthage period to the ancient Roman period.

Turkey: Erdogan stokes judicial crisis, calling for new constitution

China: Magnitude of earthquake in Papua New Guinea Region revised from 5.8 to 5.4 -- GFZ

BEIJING, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 jolted Papua New Guinea Region at 2053 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 5.43 degrees south latitude and 145.81 degrees east longitude.

Missing An-2 aircraft found in Russia's Chukotka, all on board rescued

MOSCOW, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- The An-2 aircraft, which had been reported missing, has been located in Chukotka in Russia's Far East, and all three people on board are currently being evacuated, local governor Vladislav Kuznetsov said Friday.

"The missing plane has been found. According to preliminary information, all three people are alive; however, they have received injuries of varying degrees," he said.

Canada PM Trudeau condemns violence after shots fired at Jewish schools

OTTAWA, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday condemned recent violence as unacceptable after shots were fired at two Jewish schools in Montreal overnight and clashes between students at a university in the same city late on Wednesday.

Police on Thursday said they were investigating overnight shootings at two Jewish schools in Montreal. Both schools reported finding a bullet hole in their front doors Thursday morning, local media reported.

There were no injuries and it was not clear whether the incidents were linked.

Russia not prejudiced against Armenia’s international partners — Lavrov

MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/: Moscow is not prejudiced against Armenia’s external partners, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Rossiya-1 television.

"We are for Armenia, as a member of the CSTO, as our close ally, strategic partner, deciding on its own how it should build relations with external partners. We have absolutely no prejudice against the circle of its foreign partners, friends, whatever you want to call it," he said.

The minister also said Western countries are "courting" Armenia as they want to have it as an ally against Russia.
