Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani has blasted interventionist stances adopted by European countries following Iran’s execution of a terrorist ringleader.
Kanaani noted that Europe’s “supportive measures” for terrorists are not only aimed at preventing the execution of justice, but it will actually encourage and promote the “sinister phenomenon of terrorism” all over the world.
Habib Farajollah Chaab, who was responsible for a 2018 bloody attack in Ahvaz, southwestern Iran, was executed in Tehran early on Saturday.
“It is very unfortunate that some European governments, instead of confronting the terrorists who target the lives of innocent people and are openly proud of their crime, support them in an unjustifiable act that is against the fundamental values of human rights,” Kanaani said.
Iran is determined to continue its fight against terrorism and will not withdraw from the rights of the Iranian nation and ensuring their security, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
He called on the European states that if they do not have a serious will to distance themselves from terrorism in its various forms, at least they should not aggravate the suffering of the victims' families with supportive positions they provide for terrorism.
