Russia: Medvedchuk’s wife calls on Putin to help in Ukrainian politician's exchange

MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/: Oksana Marchenko, the wife of Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk detained in Ukraine, has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to help in the exchange of her husband, she said in video footage released on Saturday.

"Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin], I am appealing to you for help in the exchange of my husband, who was illegally detained by the Kiev authorities on political grounds. Viktor Medvedchuk has given his consent to the exchange and extradition to the Russian Federation in case the Ukrainian and Russian parties reach respective agreements," she said.
