27 Aug 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken to curb Israel's colonial project in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a statement coinciding with the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to Washington, the ministry pointed out that this provides a golden opportunity to rein-in the settler-colonial state.

According to the PA, Bennett and Blinken discussed common issues, including the Palestinian situation. Blinken was quoted as saying that there is a need for equal measures "for both Israelis and Palestinians to live in freedom, prosperity and dignity."

The ministry said that Blinken's remarks "expresses his humanitarian positions" as well as the direction of the Biden administration. However, the most important question is what Bennett's position was before and during the meeting.

Shortly before his trip to the US, Bennett stressed to the New York Times that his government would never negotiate with the Palestinian Authority.
