KANPUR: In order to stop trespassers and hassle-free run of the trains the Railway Board has planned to build the walls on both sides of the tracks. A sum of Rs 25 crores has been sanctioned to the engineering department of Kanpur Zone.
The amount will be spent on building the walls along the railways from Kanpur Central station to Rura station in the first phase of the project. In the initial phase, about 45-Km long wall will be stretched so that the tracks could be completely made safe. It will take at least seven months in the completion of this important work. The wall will stand at the railway precincts’ mark either by sleepers or stone pillars.
As the walls are to be built from Delhi to Howrah routes, the Zonal officers coming under the zones have been directed to complete the necessary construction within seven months’ period. Afterwards the walls from Rura to Jheejak shall be constructed.
Dr Jitendra Singh, station director, said with the successful trial run of high-speed Vande Bharat Express, the process of building the walls have been given a pace.
It was apt to mention here that a total amount of Rs 200 crores will be spent on the construction of the walls from Delhi to Howrah.
