India: Lockdown extension delays driving license paperwork

Kanpur: The desperate wait for obtaining a driving license prolongs with the extension of lockdown days. The state government has extended the duration in the wake of a spike in the Covid-19 virus. So the disposal of paperwork related to the license has been delayed.

Expressing their views on the delay the officials at RTO anticipated that work-related with the driving license would begin next week. In case of the lockdown does not extend further, the work will start as per the Headquarters order.

The booked slot for both the learning and permanent license between April 26 and May 2 has been cancelled, told Sudhir Verma, ARTO (admin) adding that the order was issued to adjust these slots into another slot after May 15.
