India: Roadways buses failing to get passengers

Kanpur: What a reversal! Now the roadways buses are made to wait for the passengers for several hours. This spectacle was seen at the busy Jhkarkutti Bus Depot here.

The crowd of passengers no longer stays at the depot. The bus conductor has to wait for more than six hours to carry the passengers.

Despite waiting for nine long hours the bus passengers for non-air-conditioned buses bound for Varanasi and Gonda were not available. The norm of fifty per cent passengers in a bus seems to be waning.

Not only this but Jan Rath buses had to return empty in absence of the passengers on its plying routes. One Jan Rath bus for Varanasi depot had to return with a single passenger.

When the conductor was enquired about running an empty bus he answered that we would get the  passenger enroute the way.
