KANPUR: Kidwainagar-based Girls’ degree college manager has been arrested in the molestation case of an undergraduate student. The girl studying in B.A. Part (I) class alleged that the manager entered the bathroom and molested her.
Daughter of a businessman complained that the manager used to call her on some pretext in the office and did not feel odd in molesting her. In fear of dishonour, she maintained complete silence. On Friday, when she entered the bathroom he came closing the door and started molesting her. On raising a full-throat cry he fled away.
When she narrated whole of the story, her parents got infuriated. The manager faced them but asked to go away. Then they approached the police where the report was registered. The girl was also sent for medical examination. The Circle Officer, Govindnagar, RK Chaturvedi said the manager has been arrested after his entry into the bathroom was confirmed by the CCTV footage.
In his defence, the manager said that the girl was making false allegations. As the mobile is banned in the college, he passed by the bathroom and heard the mobile conversation so he entered the bathroom. She was caught red-handed with the mobile. When he was asked why did he not ask a lady teacher to check? He had no reply in this regard. In the manager's support, the college teachers have come after taking help of the girl's friend, as the news reports maintained.
