India: Woman dies in moving train

KANPUR:  A dead body of married woman was found on a sleeper coach of Lokmanya Tilak Express. Taking corpse into possession the railway police sent the dead body for the post-mortem. Injury marks were found on her body. On complaints of the relatives, the police arrested the husband.

According to available information, Virendra r/o Agiya along with his wife Gudiya (20), d/o Seshram Gupta, r/o Sohramau, Siddarth Nagar was returning to Siddarthnagar from Mumbai by the Lokmanya Tilak Express on Friday. He had been living in Mumbai and used to sell vegetables in the market. He had married with Gudiya on March 3, 2017.

Though he purchased a general class ticket he anyhow boarded the sleeper class coach S-5. Both of them accommodated themselves on berth number 25. The person on whose name this berth was reserved stepped into the train near Pukhrayan. He asked them to leave the reserved seat.    

Virendra vacated the seat but his wife Gudiya could not. He even called her to wake up. When he removed the bed sheet it was known of her death. On railway police’s persuasive interrogation he disclosed about the wife’s relatives. He even accepted of the brawl and thrashing his wife.

Sheshram, father of Gudiya told that Virendra was demanding motorcycle and 50 thousand rupees. In the post-mortem reports, it has been confirmed that she was throttled to death. Dowry demand was also his wife’s constant pain as her father stated.
