Dilapidated schools need renovation

KANPUR: In the wake of two different incidents of school collapse in NOIDA and Hardwar respectively,  it has been found as many as 40 schools in decrepit condition here. Strangely enough, the state government’s machinery does not wake up timely.

Renovation and repairing are no longer deemed essential despite the fact of giving so much importance to primary education in the state. In absence of proper maintenance, the dilapidated school buildings are continuously losing its solid strength.

We find either the school’s walls have withering or the building’s balcony is cracked or the age-old plaster has unpeeled at various places. There is also seen the crevices in the building’s ceiling.

Such sight is available at the primary school existing in Govindnagar, Kiwadainagar and other areas of the city. Reacting on school’s poor upkeep, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari Pravin mani Tripathi assured of bringing about structural perfection in those dilapidated schools sooner.
