KANPUR: With the onslaught of the rains in the city and its adjoining areas, the very decision to repair the potholes gives a sense of satisfaction to the city residents in a big way. After all, as they said this exercise would save them from untoward damage and injury. A survey has been started by the Nagar Nigam.

Dilapidated roads bring waterlogging that restricts movement. On the directives of the Nagar Ayukt A Tripathi, corporation's chief engineer K Singh has asked zonal engineers to conduct a survey of broken roads.

On receipt of the survey report, the work on filling up the potholes would begin on a war footing.

However, it was pointed out by the denizens that the dilapidated roads should also be restored in the interest of vehicle users.

Nevertheless, the initiative to repair the potholes is quite appreciative move on the part of the civic body, they expressed.

A few residents were a little bit surprised why selected localities were chosen for this crucial responsibility? Were residents of other localities not paying the taxes realised by the municipal corporation? The worst condition of the roads prevails in Civil Lines, Kutchery road, P Road, Cooperganj Road, Jhakatkatti Road, Kidwai Nagar Main road, Zoo Road Arya Nagar and etc.
