India: Mayor upset at indiscipline of zonal officials

KANPUR: Whether it was state minister or divisional commissioner or district magistrate or city mayor everyone has been habituated to face the employees’ indiscipline. Indiscipline and carelessness towards responsibility are not lessening despite warnings and actions.

Lately, the city’s mayor Pramila Pandey with a view to inspecting the running of daily office work at the municipal corporation’s office of Zone, she was dazed to find the employees were found to be enjoying the day’s sunshine in the open space.

They appeared to have given more value to easily sit in the comfort of brightening sun rays than disposing of the public related matters. The morning’s progression of important work is always good for the general public as they do not entirely accept employees’ dilly-dallying approach in the way of daily transaction.

The mayor's sudden arrival at the office precincts on Friday destroyed all the sun’s warmth from their bodily existence which they benefitted with a slapdash fashion. What they never thought transpired before them.

They suddenly seized by a craving for a safe excuse if they were questioned face to face. Some might have thought it was better to say they did not recognize her but when they were asked over their stark indiscipline, their demonstrative response cleared they had noticed or stood before the mayor earlier too.

In a way, they came directly into the danger zone from the comfort zone. Leaving them prickling disagreeably with anticipation, the mayor moved on to the Zonal officer’s workplace but disappointment upsets her once again. That was pretty intense.

The general public present inside the Zonal office was not able to think what they should do now in such an odd situation. How could their work be attended to? Their physical existence was jerking convulsively. The Mayor in her authoritative capacity warned the officials to bring improvements in the worse style of the office work.
