Underground power supply hikes KESCo's revenues

KANPUR: Underground cables for the electricity supply in densely populated areas have given a big impetus to the Kanpur Electricity Supply Company in the revenue collection. Not only frequent faults but illegal connections have also been lessened.

Giving this information the KESCo managing director Saumya Agarwal maintained that as many as 3670 new power connections have been given in the areas coming under Babu Purwa power sub-station. A sum of Rs three crore has been added in its revenue earning so far.

In view of this positive upshot, the work on laying down of the underground cable was underway in Cycle Market & Mall Road substation areas. A total of 1200 applications for new power connection have already been received. It has also been claimed that there will also be a big shoot in the revenues subsequently.
