KESCO warns Jal Nigam

KANPUR: The city residents could reel under the water crisis if the Jal Nigam failed to deposit the power dues sooner.

In a strict notice issued to the Jal Nigam, the Kanpur Electricity Supply Co warned that if electricity bill, amounting to Rs 55.76 crore, was not deposited, the power supply to all 61 zonal pumping stations would be disconnected.

It is quite clear the pumping station machines will not run without electricity connection. As a result, the water supplies will stop.

There are five pumps in Jajmau area. Jarib Chowki and Nawabganj areas are equipped with seven pumping machines respectively.
