India: Man dies trying to walk back home from Delhi due to lockdown

Agra; 30 March 2020 (UMM):  A 38-year-old man has died on his way home from Delhi to Badfara village in Madhya Pradesh. He collapsed due to exhaustion and died of a heart attack Saturday in Agra, well over 100 km still to go.

Ranveer Singh worked as a delivery boy with a restaurant in Tughlakabad, Delhi.

A convent educated man assaulted by circumstances, Ranveer’s last words to his family was “Lene aa sakte ho toh aa jao (Come get me if you can).”

According to The Indian Express, Ranveer was one among the countless migrant workers walking home from big cities to their villages.

Between the debt for the house, and the expenses back home, there was no money. Ranveer had Rs 800 in his pocket. That’s all his family has now, reported The Indian Express
