Kanpur City's development to get a boost

KANPUR: Ample fund has been allotted for development works in the city that was transferred from the 14th Finance Commission Fund.

Even the Mayor has been provided with a sum of Rs 7 crores for initiating development works.

A sum of Rs 5 lakh will be spent on each Ward’s development. High-tech machines will be made available to the Nagar Nigam’s Udyan Vibhag for proper upkeep of the parks. City’s 25 crossings will get a makeover with a sum of Rs 8 lakh each.

A sum of rupees 25 thousand will be spent on restoration of the Clock Tower whereas a sum of Rs one crore was provided to Jal Nigam for the Common Effluent Treatment Plant maintenance. Mayor Pramilla Pandey said that planned development would be initiated with this budget. A significant amount has also been assigned to roads improvement.
