Apple Exec shot in Lucknow

Vivek Tiwari 38, an Apple executive, has been shot dead by UP police. Two constables Prashant Chowdhary and Sundeep, have been arrested.

Vivek Tiwari was travelling in his car with a colleague, Sana Khan at around 01:30 am when the incident took place.

Khan said she heard a gunshot, following which the car rammed into a wall, and she saw Vivek Tiwari bleeding profusely. She took him to a hospital with the help of locals where Tiwari was declared brought dead by a doctor.

Constable Prashant, however, claimed that he opened fire in self-defence.

A murder case has been lodged against the two cops and a Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by a superintendent of police will investigate the case.

The Indian Express quoted constable Prashant saying that he opened fire after police spotted a suspicious car with its headlights turned off. “After parking our motorcycle in front of the car, we went close to it. The car immediately started and hit our motorcycle,” said Prashant.
