Russian-Ukrainian gas agreement should be mutually beneficial, says PM

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/: Ukraine can receive Russian gas directly at a lower price compared to reverse-flow supplies, but a win-win solution has to be found, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told the Vesti v Subbotu (News on Saturday) TV program.

"Whether they (the Ukrainian authorities - TASS) want that or not, it is clear that in this case it is necessary to agree on some kind of zero option. One may like it or not, but that should be a mutually beneficial solution for both parties," he said commenting on the Russian-Ukrainian gas talks.

UK minister says concerned about election interference after leak of documents linked to Russia

LONDON (Reuters) - The leak of classified UK-U.S. trade documents online, tied to a previous Russian disinformation campaign, has all the hallmarks of an attempt to interfere in Britain’s upcoming election, a British minister said on Saturday.

The opposition Labour Party says the leaked documents show the ruling Conservatives are plotting to offer the state-run National Health Service (NHS) for sale in post-Brexit trade talks with Washington.

Johnson, Corbyn wage Brexit battle in final debate before UK election

Six days before Britain votes in its second national election in less than three years, the debate was seen as the last chance for Corbyn to squeeze Johnson’s lead in the polls, which mostly point to victory for the prime minister.

Migrants in Bosnia refuse to move from forest camp

VUCJAK (Bosnia), Dec 7 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Bowing to international pressure, Bosnian authorities agreed on Friday to dismantle a makeshift refugee camp of freezing snow-covered tents, but some migrants living there have been refusing food in protest at being resettled.

The migrants, who are eager to reach the European Union, say they do not want to be rehoused further away from the Croatian border, which lies just 8 km away.

Greece expels Libyan envoy over Turkey maritime deal

ATHENS, Dec 7 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Greece’s foreign ministry on Friday said it was expelling the Libyan ambassador for failing to disclose the contents of a disputed maritime jurisdiction deal with Turkey that has raised hackles in the region.

“I regret to announce that the Libyan ambassador was summoned to the ministry this morning and was informed of his expulsion,” Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias told reporters, adding that the envoy had been given 72 hours to leave Greece.

PMs of Baltic states vow to step up political oversight of Rail Baltica project

RIGA, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The prime ministers of the three Baltic states and Poland met here on Friday to discuss progress on the regional rail infrastructure project Rail Baltica amid concerns about delays in the project's implementation.

EU grants €297M to assist Syrian refugees

The newly adopted assistance package aims at improving healthcare and living conditions of the Syrian refugees and host communities, as well as creating new job opportunities and social protection.

Israel, Czech Republic sign $125m missile defence deal

06 Dec 2019; MEMO: The Israeli government yesterday signed a deal with the Czech Republic to sell radar systems used in the Iron Dome missile defence system.

The deal, inked by the two country’s respective defence ministries, is worth an estimated $125 million, reported AFP, with delivery set for 2021-2023.
