USA: Elon Musk says Tesla will move HQ from California to Texas

(AP) --- Tesla will relocate its headquarters from Palo Alto, California, to Austin, Texas, though the electric car maker will keep expanding its manufacturing capacity in the Golden State, CEO Elon Musk said Thursday.

Musk, who last year said he was moving to Texas from California, gave no timeline for the move when he addressed shareholders at Tesla’s annual meeting.

U.S. discloses size of nuclear stockpile

WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. State Department has disclosed the number of nuclear weapons in the country's stockpile.

A report issued on Tuesday showed that the U.S. stockpile consisted of 3,750 nuclear warheads as of September 2020.

The stockpile includes both "active" and "inactive" warheads, the report noted, adding that some 2,000 additional warheads are currently retired and awaiting dismantlement.

USA: CIA creates working group on China as threats keep rising

WASHINGTON (AP) — The CIA said Thursday it will create a top-level working group on China as part of a broad U.S. government effort focused on countering Beijing’s influence.

The group will become one of fewer than a dozen mission centers operated by the CIA, with weekly director-level meetings intended to drive the agency’s strategy toward China. The CIA also announced that it would ramp up efforts to recruit Chinese speakers and create another mission center focusing on emerging technologies and global issues such as climate change and global health.
